WORDISM45
What do people think of international and multinational bodies like the EU UN ICC etc. the premiss is that theyre there to address things like transnational corporations, enivornmental issues, international poverty and human rights which traditional state and national governments do not effectively address. do you think they are (or can possibly be) really effective? or are they just the latest extension of a continously swelling beaureacracy? do you think they threaten national sovereignty and individual liberty by further seperating the average citizen from the institutions of government? if so how? fermentor666
The UN is actually a really good conception for the peaceful existence of all the nations. It's just not pulled off very well in execution many times.
WORDISM45
what do you think about veto powers though? its nto very egalitarian for any one of five countries to be able to override whatever the rest of the world thinks
fermentor666
I think the veto powers are ridiculous in terms of the mission the UN has. It's not very fair and it's one of the reasons I feel the execution is flawed.
TheOh
groups like the UN, EU, etc. are introducing people to the idea of globalization slowly. people are not willing to give up national sovereignty all at once. these bodies help introduce the properties of globalization incrementally. i believe these organizations will either serve in a transitional function or ultimately act as the administrative arm of the elite's plan for globalization/one world government. so far, they are seemingly harmless and only capable of good. as we have seen with the UN in particular though, it is subject to the bullying of the most powerful member country (obviously im talking about the US). fermentor666
Well, it's a good idea. The idea has nothing to do with globalization.
