Perhaps you are unfamiliar with what is on either side of that "spot", and the surrounding few miles for that matter. Also maybe you/they are unfamiliar with the time that area used to be overlooked by authorities. Additionally, maybe you/they don't understand the saying "Don't shit where you eat."
