lord_casek Posted May 10, 2006 Author Share Posted May 10, 2006 ground troops are a thing of the past investing things into actual people is a waste on the contrary. ground troops are and always will be essential in fighting wars. maybe not so many as we have seen in the past, but they are integral in fighting wars. i think it will move to more special ops type stuff. ground troops performing such tasks as they are in iran right now. they sneak in months before the invasion, plot out attacks, do a little co-intel, recon, psy ops, get out before the shit hits the fan and then let the machines and the men/women flying/drving them take over. those chameleon suits are proof. think about a group of 6-10 special forces going in to a location with those things on instead of thinking 120,000 at a time like iraq. of course, adding all the special forces going in, it will probably number into the low thousands. then we have to have ground troops to clean up the mess afterwards.
