these pictures don't do them justice. when you see them in person, the solid steel bodies are fucking dope.

i used to help my friend work on his scooters several years ago, cuz he was a mod dork. i wanted one but could never afford one. i would still love to have a sixties allstate. i just hate the ska/rudeboy or mod bullshit that's associated with scooters, so if you wanna learn about fixing them from others, be prepared to meet some dorks.

those were some sweet lambrettas and a nice vespa GS you posted... it dosen't seem like there's too much ska shit associated with them as much anymore, since ska isn't as trendy. lots of skins sill into scooters, and some mods here and there... who cares who's into them, i still love 'em.

to the guy that claims to have found a bunch of vespas in working condition for cheap at a junkyard....

a. stop lying.

b. in the impossible chance that you were telling some stretch of the truth...what city do you live in.

c. if you want a vespa that actually runs very well. you might check the BAJAJ when the UK had rule over India, they made vespas there. when UK split with india, BAJAJ kept making the scooters. Vespa tried to sue but lost. so BAJAJ makes a vespa scoote. its no 60's model but its far better than any "vintage clone" or some beat up vespa that is far more trouble than good cause you will never get it running.

check it out... www.bajajusa.com

oh and they are cheaper than any of the scooters on the market and its 145cc .

sixteen.

oh...p.s. they just started importing them to the USA like this month. so you cant get one till february

I really like the Piaggio scooters. My freinds friend had a really nice cobalt blue one (which got smashed up when he had a collision with a bus), and a lot of girls around had the nice pearl-ish ones that had the light blue shine to them , like when you looked at it in the light the paint shimmered light blue. I really want one, but because where I live the winters are so god damn cold (and fall, and early spring) I just couldn't justify having one. I prefer the cute rounded (old looking, but new) ones to the new ..... God I don't know what to call them.... Ok, the ones that try to look like midget racing motorcycles.

i've been looking for a GS or a rally 200cc... usually inbetween 3000-5000 bucks.... much rather have a rally with a top speed at 75-80... i'd sitll rather find one in the midwest.. probably be cheaper... they're not "cool" except on the coasts, where prices are high.

i just bought a 62 Vespa VNB from ebay for about $1100.00 USD. Had to ship it across the border to where i live. If you can trust buying through ebay, there are usually some really nice buys on there.

For anyone planning on restoring an older scooter, There are a tonne of resources online. www.garnersclassicscooters.com sells brand new parts for most Vespa models as well as a few Lambretta parts.

If you can find a decent older scooter, i would suggest to grab it before someone else does. My only advice is avoid rust, and check the VIN numbers.

another good site for restoring info... www.scooterhelp.com

also, a 200cc engine will probably not break 75k / 45mph without performance parts.

aight.
