Walid Jumblat
yeah and scram and kem got their letters from skeme/dez/magoo etc etc whats your point? Yeah, I agree that it's very hard to find originality even going all the way back to the start in Australia as with anything outside of New York after 1982. But there is increasing isomorphism (thanks Frankie!!), as in the trends are stronger and everyone moves more towards the center. To get influenced years back you had to get out on the lines and hunt other people's work down or hang out at The Marble and meet other writers. These days everyone can access everything within seconds. That means there is less of a requirement to create your own identity and as soon as one person innovates there will be a whole crowd doing the same thing by the next weekend. The worst case of this I've ever seen is the Rime/MSK arrow. I mean that was more than just being influenced by some one's style, that was a direct bite of an actual design, but everyone does it. Of course Rime didn't invent the arrow either, so it's all a progression of the one original idea in the end. I just feel that the herd mentality is really strong right now and everyone is moving toward the center rather than innovating and being themselves. Grandpa story over now, thanks for reading. Tri-Z
yeah and scram and kem got their letters from skeme/dez/magoo etc etc whats your point? i dont much care for scram or kem but, scram is actually decent and did tweak the letters he was influenced by to give it his own feel. freak and a whole bunch of other toys simply just replicate kem's old letters and fills on every piece they do..no tweaking just shameless replication. but apparently thats ok nowadays? so my point is cunt: is that sydney is terrible

MitsOne
another example, no disrespect mate but to me this is lazy, shows no skill what so ever, and my 1 year old son could probably burn this, and when u sit down and draw this cant possibly be YOUR letter style from your YOUR brain? here's a simple old toy panel of mine, sketched up on the spot from MY head, both panels are nothing to be proud of but i know which one id rather see running... don't be so lazy u young fucks, if your highlights and one line aura are inches from your outline, that's gay and lazy...
