IRAN-why not North Korea & VENEZUELA ?

Recommended Posts

Right now we are trying to squeze the life out of Iran for nuclear dismantiling,

the U.S position is that, "IRan poses a great threat to Israel, saying that the Hamas have written in thier constituion that israel must be wiped out off the planet." [i'm paraphrasing so dont beat me for that.]

But my question is, why not go after North Korea, and Venezuela?

WHat do you think?

north korea: fine. no problem with that.

venezuela, however, i do have a problem with you saying that.

why do you want it nuked? because chavez is giving back the land that the rich stole formt he poor? because he called bush out for being hilter-esque?

because he won't bow to our concessions? why? give me one good reason why you're hating on a good country an a good president (of venezuela).

as for iran: it's like this, our govt. wants key positions in the middle east to carry out strikes on the rest of the middle east. Operation Iraqi Liberation. O.I.L.

derrrrr.

Actually, if he spent a fraction of the money he uses for propaganda that reaches people like you he could probably help out some of the millions of people living in shanty towns....he makes alot of oil money.

o rly?!!?!?

"Venezuela has one of the largest known oil deposits in the world as well as huge quantities of coal, iron ore, bauxite and gold. Yet most Venezuelans live in poverty"

"Unemployment remains high and, according to official figures, around 60% of households are poor."

More Chavez! He's so generous

That comment actually isn't too ironic, Chavez is definitely more of a Pol Pot, or maybe even a Stalin. He deals with political dissidents with style, yet discretely.

Chavez persecutes political opponents

Public's ability to monitor and criticize venezuelan govt. stifled

Control of media

Hugo Chavez's security forces detain and beat protestors (below link talks about an incident where 40 protestors died and 200 were injured).

Uncle Hugo and his buddies uphold censorship laws

I'm sure its all lies, we all know how conservative the Human Right's Watch organization can be. (sarcasm)

More from the great president of Venezuela

Yeah, amnesty international is also another bastion of neo-conservatism, and also a pawn of the Bush administration.

And about the thread topic, it's because Iran has launched terrorist attacks in the past and the government is based on a violent and extreme interpretation of an otherwise peaceful and loving religion (no seriously.) While North Korea may use nukes as a political device, Iran will use them to destroy parts of the western world to spread the love.

Hopefully this doesn't happen, and your half-assed, naive perception of the US as the big bad bully, and global politics as a whole, remains unbelmished.

Chavez is a slimy fucking prick. At some level I may respect what he says he wants to do, but I can't stand the guy and I don't think he's a trustworthy leader. Evo Morales, on the other hand, is awesome.

I dont think the number one reason the US is going into the middle east is oil, i believe it has more to do with "weapons of mass destruction"

The united states has the most powerful military in the world, no other country stands a chance in a ground war with the US. So what do these other countries do? Buy weapons that will kill lots of people if used. Its like a check on power.

In Venezuela the working class has made substantial gains, but Chaves is trying to straddle the working class and a layer of the class that does the exploiting of the workers.

Evo Morales is similar to Chavez in this regard, the working class in Bolivia havent made gains like those made in Venezuela, but hopefully they will be able to.

There will come a point when Chavez and Morales present more of a problem for the working people of their respective countries. I liken them both to Allende in Chile.

Oh, Chavez sent free oil to a few dozen New England families making sure it was widely reported...while millions of his own people (who he can see from his window) starve and live in squalor that someone who enjoys the high standards of living in this country couldn't imagine. Yeah, that wasn't a political stunt. And he wants us to send an anti-castro terrorist home to be executed...what imperialist pigs we are. And about his state run, media la extravaganza, talk show....I wasn't arguing the effectiveness of his propaganda.

Did you not notice the articles from HRW and AI? BTW, how do you respond to Chavez's actions outlined there? Deny them, accept the deaths of a few people and the lack of human rights, or admit Chavez is actualy a douchebag and you were wrong? And I only quote the BBC because every other media outlet is controlled by gay CIA pornstar hookers.....no, really, that's why.

I like Morales alot more than I like Chavez....I don't like the ties he has with the drug industry. Bolivia is what, the second largest cocaine producing country? His stance is basically "no no, we're growing these coca plants to make....blankets, and..paper! Yes, white, powdery, mind-altering, highly addictive, paper."

Propaganda, sure. But websites like "prison planet", you would agree are pretty anti-US govt and in your opinion truthful? Not to mention opposition figures in the US like Cindy Sheehan. In Venezuela anything critical of the government is extremely restricted if not banned all together. Dissidents are, at the very least, thrown in prison and tortured. Had you bothered to read some of the links from human rights watch or amnesty international, you would know that. I didn't mention genocide, but we have killed a shit load of Indians a hundred plus years ago to get the land we own today. Ask Chavez what happens in his camps for political dissidents or to people protesting him today, or better yet ask his good buddy Fidel what happened to several hundred thousand missing people who happened to disagree with him over the past 40 years. And yeah, our country has poor and homeless people. Go check out the percentages of people in the US living under the poverty line, compared to the percentages of the people in Venezuela who live in shit. Try it, its way trippy bro. Speaking of the poor, what country gives 40% of the world's global aide, more than any other nation? Take a wild guess.

And what are you being, defending Chavez and continually pushing your conspiracy theories on here? A lap poodle maybe. And you still have not responded to any of the claims outlined in the above HRW and AI articles....just ignore them, deny it, or live with them? Pretending everything you believe about the US gov is true, what is the difference between them and Chavez's govt that you defend? Maybe the ends justify the means, that has really worked out swell in the past.

I haven't heard the word "bogus" since Hasslehoff's band had a healthy following of 13 year old german girls. Do you have a teenage mutant ninja turtle sweatshirt? And why can't anyone respond to the points made? That's pretty bogus right there, and not righteous at all bros.

Dawood, yes I am. How come you respond to my posts now, but when I asked you about your grossly conflicting views about your religion you just wrote "this is rediculous"? Come on buddy, Allah will guide you! Get your prayer dress on, its a celebration!

Apparently in this forum, propaganda = any political statement you don't agree with.

That said,

Dissidents are, at the very least, thrown in prison and tortured.

I'm not gonna say Venezuela is exactly dissident friendly, but this is a stretch.

^Which I'm sure will never be enforced with the severity it would in a place like Venezuela. Not saying it's OK, but it's ridiculous to compare the two. I'm pretty sure the definition of "dissident" varies wildly between the two.

On Chavez controlling the media/locking up and torturing dissidents? Uh no. When i was in venezuela there were anti chavez protests in another area of caracas - venezuelan doctors protesting cuban doctors in the country.

Media on lockdown? Then why can you get FOX FUCKING NEWS IN VENEZUELA?
