HardyHarHar
Ha ha! I thought this was a David Byrne appreciation thread. David Lynch is pretty great too. David Lynch made one amazing movie (with John Goodman) maybe more (?)
LiliStCynical
yea! I watched Lost Highway tonight with some friends. Three words: Patricia Arquette's Tits. oh also, I did a weekly thing there for a while where I'd show 2 episodes of Twin Peaks and had coffee, doughnuts, etc. Beards never showed. pfft... Mulholland Dr. has the mad lesbian action rocking Naomi Watts and some big titted brunette getting it on. Wild At Heart is good too As is Elephant Man Fuck I think I might watch his flicks again

King Of Hell
She wore blue velvet Bluer than velvet was the night Softer than satin was the light From the stars She wore blue velvet Bluer than velvet were her eyes Warmer than May her tender sighs Love was ours Ours a love I held tightly Feeling the rapture grow Like a flame burning brightly But when she left, gone was the glow of Blue velvet But in my heart there'll always be Precious and warm, a memory Through the years And I still can see blue velvet Through my tears“ (Bobby Vinton)

grim540
just bought Wild at Heart on DVD today, trying to figure out which Nicolas Cage character is better though, Sailor from Wild at Heart Or H. I. McDunnough for Raising Arizona
grim540
oh yeah What the fuck ever happened the second season of Twin Peaks on DVD???
KT08
Twin Peaks Season 2 should come out either this spring or summer. Lynch is releasing it at the same time as the Inland Empire DVD. I can't wait!! Sailor wins by far. He's elvis, and the fact that the snakeskin Jacket was actually Nick Cages in real life takes it.

the_gooch
Lynch is insane but I really wasn't feeling his take on the book Dune. I remember not being able to get into see that movie when in came out (84 i think...christ I'm old). It was PG13 and I think that's right when they brought out that rating. Anyway, his version of the story was really off from the book, I think the Sci-Fi channel did a better job with the miniseries. But over all he has had a bunch of films that I enjoyed. King Of Hell
yeah, i feel the same way about dune, but for some reason i still like the movie if i dont think about the books.(this is coming from a DUNE freak).
the_gooch
I like the movie for what it is, Lynch's interpretation of Herbert's book. Same as Jackson's take on Tolkien. I'm sure Lynch could have done a sick movie if he had the budget and FX that Jackson did with rings. But for 1984, Dune was a pretty sick movie, along with the fact he had HR Giger's designs and concepts for the visual aspects of the film. The spacing guild were pretty bad ass, as were the sardaukar. Not to get off topic, what did you think of both of the Dune Sci-Fi mini series?
