Just got back from the midnight showing of the hills have eyes (my buddy is a manager of a theater)

backround-a tribe of horrificly deformed people who grew up on a nuclear testing site in new mexico that eat people....one of them looks like rubber jhonny...unsispecting family gets stranded near them..EAT

All i can say without spoiling it is,

Great gore..fucking axes to the head..shotgun to the face.burned alive..nothing dissapoints.

Soundtrack to MATCH! when shit got fucked, the soundtrack was right there..And im not talking like symphony shit/eery violins...It was Pulsating distorted bass sounds in repitition "BEEEAAUUURRRRP.....................................BEEEEAAUUURRRRRP" and this crazy grinding sound..made shit stressfull.

and shit that should have made it NC17

When originally submitted to the MPAA, the film was given an X-rating which would have relegated it to the porno circuit and severely hurt the box-office returns. Craven cut the film enough to secure an R rating, and the original director's cut is thought to be no longer in existence.

Late 1970s horror genre icon whose best known for his creepy performance as "Pluto" in the uncompromising Wes Craven horror film The Hills Have Eyes (1977). Berryman (who suffers from Hypohidrotic Ectodermal Dysplasia, a rare condition leaving him with no sweat glands, hair, fingernails or teeth) reminds one of a latter-day Rondo Hatton who also suffered from a rare medical condition that distorted his features giving him a brutish look just right for horror movies.

To Berryman's credit, he managed to develop upon his "Pluto" character, and has turned up in numerous sci-fi / fantasy movies such as My Science Project (1985), Weird Science (1985), Armed Response (1986) and Evil Spirits (1990). The tall & lean Berryman generally portrays mutant bikers, evil undertakers, monsters and other frightening characters! A genuine favorite of horror movie fans!

Saw it last night too and I'm fucking sick of remakes.

the original was hardly a classic.  Wes Craven is the most overrated person ever

Agreed,word for word.

I haven't seen it yet,but I'm gonna go out on a limb and say it's not gonna be the best horror flick of 2006. Hills looks ok,but Hostel is the undisputed champ of '06.

UNDISPUTED.

slither was so much better than this remake

The sleepy town of Wheelsy could be any small town in America - somewhat quaint and gentle, peopled with friendly folks who mind their own business. But just beneath the surface charm, something unnamed and evil has arrived...and is growing. No one seems to notice as telephone poles become clogged with missing pet flyers, or when one of the town’s richest citizens, Grant (Michael Rooker), begins to act strangely.

But when farmers’ livestock turn up horribly mutilated and a young woman goes missing, Sheriff Bill Pardy (Nathan Fillion) and his team, aided by Grant’s wife Starla (Elizabeth Banks), uncover the dark force laying siege to their town...and come face-to-face with an older-than-time organism intent on absorbing and devouring all life on Earth.

director..james gunn

its more or less in the vein of tremors

Hostile was cool because I hadn't heard anything about it before watching it. I was at the drive-in wasting 5+ hours with my friends when I had to choose either Jennifer Anniston or bong hits and titties. Having a penis and all, I decided to go with the titties and bong tokes thinking it was going to be an independant Van Wilder-type flick....

You have no idea how fucking happy I was when people started dying.

this WILL NOT be better than the original. most remakes never are anyway.

also, is slither the bad looking bite of night of the creeps?

naw..its somewhat of an homage to night of the creeps, blob, tremors and such

i saw a screener of this last weekend in chitown.. its a decent movie

katiebird.jpg

katiebird

katieBird Wilkins discovers the secret life of her father and knows this is the path that was meant for her. She learns what was passed down to her father and her father’s father... truth can only be found through death. The debut from director, producer, writer and editor Justin Paul Ritter is a truly disturbing and challenging tale of unrequited love and painful truth, and certainly not for the squeamish or faint of heart, but the movie itself is outrageous, seductive, colorful and unique.

Exactly.

Slither looks like garbage too.

The only movie coming out that matters in the 2k6 involves snakes and a plane.

Thats honestly the ONLY thing I'm looking forward to this year.

Next year is going to be the transformers movie.

Also Cronenberg's "Shivers". http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0073705/

Same premise, more serious.
