absolute.despair
thanks, that style looks bad ass id steer me one of those. does the style have a particular name? so if i am correct its basically a chopped & converted soft tail? i dont care about labels so can you take basically any soft tail frame chop it, hard tail it, then throw some springers on it and make one of them? *obviously theres more involved im just askin basics
Soup
In a nutshell, yeah. I wouldnt say any of those customizations are necessary to a chopper tho. There's some amazing softtails too. The thing that I love about all these choppers is the pre-70's, (oft 40's and 50's) motors running with custom carbs headers etc, and with all the rust you could ever want. I like my bikes aged and fermented like fine wine.

You buy I'll deliver. :D http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/Harley-Davidson-Sportster-XLCH-1962-Sportster-XLCH-Chopper-Bobber-Rebuilt-Motor_W0QQcmdZViewItemQQ_trksidZp3286Q2ec0Q2em14QQhashZitem45edad625bQQitemZ300340306523QQptZUSQ5fmotorcycles

seeking
im thinking about it. theres a local shop here that basically just sells chops. cb750's, xs's, etc. once i finally get this shadow running (should be this week) and know that im real into it, i think this winter im gonna try and work with them on building something. Soup
I have no idea. I mean i think just about any pair of rear shocks will bolt up, but you gotta find one with the same unsprung weight and suspension travel needed for your bike. Tons of mini speedos and tachs here: http://www.dragspecialties.com/ and for the gas i'd make this http://www.phatperformanceparts.com/ProductDetails.asp?ProductCode=632915&click=37735
dowmagik
fuckin a. --- i was lookin for a cheap bike on CL and found this: Harley for sale...baddest bike in Oregon! - $12000 (obo) Date: 2009-08-25, 9:07PM PDT I have a Harley just like all the others on here. It is a Road King or Deuce or some other name that sounds good but really it is a 700 pound piece of shit. I bought it because I am so fat I can't find my dick anymore, but then I realized I can't ride it and women still won't sleep with me unless I pay them, so I am getting tired of the payment especially since I lost my job and can't get another one because I am an idiot, the kind of idiot who buys a Harley. The bike is only a few years old but it leaks oil and never did make decent power and it shakes and rattles like there's something wrong with it only that's normal for Harleys. I'm a loser and need out from under the payment and I'm hoping you are as dumb as me and will pay way too much for a poorly engineered poser piece of crap. It won't help you be less fat or grow your dick either and the only women who are impressed by them are old, fat bitches you couldn't fuck without popping a couple of Viagra, but it will make you feel like you're more of a man until that first payment is due. I'm too much of a rough tough wannabe biker to beg, but I am getting desperate so if you could email me and express an interest in my bike, at least I would have a little hope. God, what a loser I am for buying this piece of shit. I hope you are an even bigger loser and will buy it from me soon.

Soup
What's funny is how many of these blogs Im stealing images from are ran by Professional (or exprofessional) Skaters and Surfers from california who have for one reason or another found themselves riding and working on choppers more than skating or surfing. Max Schaaf, who seems to be enjoying some downtime with a brokedd knee by painting tanks and fenders, also runs the blog 4Q conditioning. I guess it makes sense. You need a profession like skateboarding to be able to go to work on a rusty, epicly jalopy lookin chopper. I dont even want to say it but... choppers really are the new fixed gears. http://twowheelterrors.com/main.php - Its even got the same vibe Mash did when it came out. I was there to see fixed gears blow up, now it feels like im about to see the same with choppers before I ever got the chance to build my own. I was there to see fixed gears blow up, now it feels like im about to see the same with choppers before I ever got the chance to build my own. I'm seeing this as well. The guys who were into fixed gears five or ten years ago have moved on to building ratrod choppers or vintage style cafe racers. Seems like I saw a few last year and then this year it's blown up. Still not that many but a lot more than last year. And personally... now I love me some bicycles, but I'd rather see the bespoke looking motorcycles over a Bianchi Pista anyday. RHDS
retro choppers and motorcycles definitely seem ready to blow up.
