They have been outside dogs with minimal attention for like three years. They got on my damn nerves and I was worried about them coming here but I am super proud of them. They are really good dogs and if anything they do that gets on your nerves is bug you for attention. They don’t chew on things. They mind their business. They take their time eating and eating snacks because they know they don’t have to fight for it anymore. They don’t bark for any reason. They haven’t had one accident in the house. I went to one of the worst kill shelters in the San Bernadino area last week and pulled 2 beautiful Australian Shepherd/Border Collie mixes who were schedules to be killed for having kennel cough. Since then, we received an email letting us know that many of the crying faces I saw have now been killed. Everyday my phone is flooded with calls, txts, emails, and DMs from people begging to please help so many dogs but we simply do not have the room because we are foster based. Should say fostering is a pretty cool option if you'd like a dog but not long term, or you want to try out owning/training different types of dogs, and if you like the idea of doing that for free. You see the dogs in advance and can pick which one, if any, you want to foster. You might have them a few days to a few weeks before they get adopted, and the place I'm at gives you all the supplies you need too. If you have plans to go away, you just don't take a foster during that time. I'd like to take a litter, short term I hope, just once. That's a lot of work but a cool challenge.
