Steve Miller
a thread i can put to use. i'm sick of being overweight and having blood pressure like a middle aged paranoid-schitzophrenic.
DEE38
Steve tell me about it. i feel like a broken record telling my story. but when i got pregnant i got toxemia which raised my blood pressure alot. im talkin about like 120/170. it was fucking crazy. And although its not as bad anymore i still am "supposed" to take meds. which i dont because i dont have insurance at the moment but my shit is still high. HBP runs in my family. My mom is very thin, but she still has it, so it's not nessesarily a weight issue. Anyway -- do you smoke? quit that shit. Salty foods too. Eat stuff like oatmeal in the morning. i think garlic pills are supposed to be really good too..
Steve Miller
i don't smoke, but i eat junk food like a maniac so that's gotta go. and i haven't been too active since i broke my ankle. i'm definitely going to start eating oatmeal in the mornings and i'll look into garlic pills. GLIK$
Remove all bleached and processed flours and grains from your diet. No more white bread, white rice, anything with white flours. Eat small portions of wheat breads, brown rice, etc. Lean meats. Stay away from red meats often because they contain higher levels of fats. Chicken is your best friend. No transitive fats, they're the devil in a diet. Cut calories to a healthy level. Keep carbs clean, and early in the day. Fruits are good snacks but dont OD, they contain sugars that can be stored if you havent had a decent intensive work out. Fats in the form of triglycerides are ok. (theyre quick digesting and dont really store.) Shift your meals toward the end of the day to more protein based (casein protein). Thats basically what I follow and weight train 5 days a week, cardio 7 days a week. If you cut your calories low enough (1500-1650) and be really strict on fats and keep carbs clean you can stand to lose 10lbs a week. If at anytime you feel like youre catching a cold, you're not eating properly. You need to eat more. Its basically based off your body's own metabolics. You gotta find how many calories are best for your needs, etc. Also I highly suggest breaking your meals into 6 smaller meals a day. Reducing cravings and keeps your metabolism working at a constant HIGHER rate. http://www.nutritiondata.com/ is a dope site for nutrional data on basically every thing you'll eat, fast food included. dobsilla
not healthy at all but i make them sometimes for like super bowl or a random appetizer dish and people mob on them. INGREDIENTS: 2 (8 ounce) cans water chestnuts 1 bottle barbecue sauce (of your choice, i like sweet baby rays) 1 pound bacon -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- DIRECTIONS: Preheat oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C). Remove water chestnuts from refrigerator and drain well. Cut bacon strips in half so that strips are about 3 inches long. Wrap each chestnut with bacon and secure bacon closed with a toothpick. Arrange all wrapped chestnuts on a baking sheet. Place in oven for 7 until bacon is crispy. Remove from oven and cover each one individually with barbecue sauce. place back in over for about 5-10 minutes or until hot and crispy. ENJOY

Scarekroe
EAT OATMEAL FOR BREAKFAST. AND DON'T ADD ANY SUGAR, MILK, BUTTER, HONEY, SALT, CINNAMON, OR ANY OF THAT NONSENSE. JUST EAT IT PLAIN. IF YOU WANT TO SWEETEN IT USE RAISINS, BANANAS, APPLES, OR ANY OTHER SOURCES OF NATURAL SUGAR FOUND IN FRUITS.
GLIK$
honey is a natural sugar and really has no impact, its comperable to anything found in fruits. If you burn calories extensively throughout the day with exercise sugars are nothing.
Scarekroe
THAT'S TRUE YOU HAVE A POINT. PERHAPS I WAS THINKING OF SYRUP. HOWEVER I WILL STILL ARGUE THAT THE SUGAR IN HONEY IS FAR MORE CONCENTRATED THAN IN FRUITS.

Tough Love
eat only when you're hungry and only untill you're not hungry anymore believe it or not, most people eat way more then they need to, if ur trying to cut down on your weight i eat anything and everything but in moderation (actually, most of what i eat isnt bad. i try to cut down on junk foods and pop, which i rarely if ever eat)....my wieght stays pretty stable but i exercise soo... oh yeh, i hear beer is pretty bad for u too....its got all the weight gain properties of food, with none of the filling properties...or so i hear :five-o:
