krs702
here's what i've noticed most tshirt companies label themselves with a theme / purpose. They commit their line to a mission. They represent whatever they can create or establish themselves upon. i am rarely convinced by their missions becuz mostuv em speak of some revolutionary shit. (read mission statements at Digitalgravel.com) U said ure about ur money, thats good. But, u should be about your art first. If your clothes is mostly graffiti oriented, u got alota work. Current Graffiti clothing, somewhat sucks, in my opinion. Consider Sizing, Design, Placement of Design, Quality of Material, Limiting of product (give a shirt to anybody, or release a limited amount) Check out these sites - http://www.apollo-nyc.com (jmoney, priceless ) http://www.situationormal.net http://www.mishkanyc.com http://www.reasonclothing.com/ http://www.mightyhealthynyc.com http://www.cartelgoods.com http://www.rockersnyc.com/

Gigantic Jug
Originally posted by Lonesome Cowboy Bill@Jan 31 2006, 02:08 AM my advice would be to buy a bunch of boxes of fruit-of-the-loom t-shirts, in bulk, and then bring them to your local silk screener (there's usually a few in town for local companies, sports leagues and people like you)... yep, there's alot of up-front costs, you won't make much profit (or any) unless you sell alot, but then again, thats how small businesses work... most fail within 2 years too I hear... iloveboxcars
im too lazy to find out, does anyone know what company rvca goes through to get their shirts or if they make them themselves or what. they stay soft forever. its great. Gigantic Jug
ohh... since you brought up rvca people have been telling me its pronounced rUca (rooka). but im thinking to myself why not spell it ruca if it is? or is it really r.V.c.a
Abracadabra
but they put periods between the letters (r.v.c.a) which would lead me to believe it's an acronym, not a word
iloveboxcars
i've been told it's pronounced "rivka" but who cares how you say that shit anyway.
Abracadabra
exactly. i'm going to make a t-shirt that says "i was abused as a child and all i got was this lousy t-shirt (oh, and herpes)"
mackfatsoe
So many people I know and know of sell t shirts, and 99% of that shit is double extra mediocre. Good luck.

iloveboxcars
the trick is you have to act like your shit is amazing compared to any other companies product out there (of course, you also need to produce some semi-decent shirts). do it like morphine generation, i think they do a good 200 a shirt or some shit. pretend you're some kind of amazing artist and make sure everything you make is advertised as limited edition. Coffie Crave
iloveboxcars thats what i was going for, the ''limited edition'' catch.. right now im in the middle of working on 12 designs, i only have 3 so far... out of the 12 im going to pick only 3 and thos will be printed 5 in each size, S M L... once they are gone they are gone. as for the designs im not going to post them here, i dont need the ppl stealing them or anything, im staying away from anything graffiti or ''urben'' cartoon... ''gangsta'' artys emo... im going for something diffrent... besides the designs and the company... its mosty the hype like u said that im going to have to push behinded it...it would be awsome if this ends up picking up, and i can make cash on the side with this... right now its for fun, and im just getting my feet wet i talked to a few people in the tee clothing depo... and i got alot of good advice along with a few of u 12oz people. thanks everyone for the advice ... Dawood
http://www.yodaddytees.com/ check them out, I never used them, but they look like they got something happening. The Galaxy tees are what's hoppin where I'm from. I like them, they hold up pretty good. I started a few different t shirt lines, they all did , OK, but once you get past your core audience, then you need to look into expanding out. (from a business perspective) You need a plan, a group of people you want to target, then hit em wherever they go. Also, try to get to gether a team, you can't do it all by yourself. Unless you just want to buy 2 doz. shirts and pay high set up fees and charge $3 over your cost , wear like 3 of them, give one to your boy and make no profit. thats usually how it works out at first. seeking
haha. dude, you're the biggest fucking joke in the world. you can't just come out of nowhere with some half-assed designs and expect anyone to give a fuck because they're 'limited edition'. i only produce one bowel movement a day, you wanna buy it? you're always trying to pedel your wack ass artwork on people, as if anyone needs/wants this shit. if you had half as much talent or half as much motivation to produce a unique product as you do to try and push it on people, you might have a chance, but as it stands you're trying to sell people horseshit and calling it a puppy. naw son, we know what puppies look like, that's a box of dookie. you aint fooling nobody.
