first 3 tapes i personally bought... public enemy a "it takes a nation of millions..", Fat Boys..dont remember the name of the album but it had 'jelly roll' 'the twist' and 'on and on' and.. run dmc..'tougher then leather'. haha still think its funny that those are my first three albums.

haha holy shit, 2 out of those 3 were my first tapes too. i didn't get public enemy's though, i think the other one was DJ Jazzy Jeff and the Fresh Prince's "He's the DJ, I'm the Rapper".

I loved tougher than leather so much that i used to sit around and rewind the tape over and over just to write down the lyrics.

First tape I ever bought was RunDMC Raising Hell, with the purple cover. Subsequently, this tape was the first to "fall apart" from too much use. The sound started to fade in and out as you listened to it...

"Peter piper picked ...........

..........un rap rhymed.......

..................ell down

this is our ti............

......B nible was quick.....

......"

Etc....

90 minutes TDK side a tougher than leather by Rundmc

Side b Yo! bum rush the show by public enemy

in 1989

the run DMC went a bit fucked during Miss Elaine so i never actually heard that song until about 92. the tape broke three times and was lovingly unscrewed and then stuck back together. but eventually it had to go rest in peace :(

How could I forget Dr. Dre's THE CHRONIC album? Classic.

'92-'95 was such a great time for rap music.

Did anyone else have that video music channel called THE BOX? Sir-Mix-A-Lot was my babysitter after school.

the box was dope, it was on noncable tv too. i can remember seeing gangstas paradise straight loop for hours. all request videos that you had to pay to see, seems like an idea they should think about again.
