A few questions about blackbooks

Recommended Posts

ive noticed a lot of blackbook stuff looks like its been panted on..what kind of paints are good, all i have is watercolors :p

how do you make it look like the ink is rushing away frm the middle (not good at describing this stuff) like the purple stuff on this piece(made by Abort99):

I may be wrong, it's kinda hard to see especially with the crummy monitor I use at work, but those purple splashes in the example you give apear to be made with Prismacolor markers.

yeah son, technique is a hands on learning experience, not something to be taught. however, as you admit toy stage, bite... completely.

dump some paint on the page and get your sisters hair dry'r and blow the paint away from the piece, unless the piece sucks in which case you would blow the paint on to the piece

-option #2

Tape your book to the ground open to the drawing in need. Tape it down about 2 feet behind the rear wheel of your brothers rocker Trans Am (hope he has big wheels in the back and small ones in the front). Dump a pile of paint out on the ground in front and behind the tire so it is touching the tire and the ground. Get in the Car step on the break and slam on the gas pedal. Peal the fuck out! Sprays paint all over the damn place, and can cause a cool effect on your black book that is open just behind the car.

*-3 amigos can not promise your parents wont kick your ass for painting the drive way so be ready to move out.

^^^hahaha

you could do that with water colors.

just lay down a stroke of paint with a lot of water in it.

little thicker paper would be better...like paper they use in black books

not just copy paper....then either blow the paint in the direction you want

or turn your book so that it drips in the direction you want.

another tip with markers (prismacolors, trias, chartpacks, copics)

to make it look more painted on (which I interpret to mean...you can't see the overlapping strokes of the marker)

is color in fast.

if you color in fast, the the marker will blend together because you're not letting one stroke dry before you apply the next one.

If you color in the whole piece like that....you can usually go back over certain parts with

that same color and give it different effects because you're overlapping the color.

hope that helps
