im not sure of the exact process but i know that the modem has a speak inside your comp and you have to turn it down on the actual modem. hope that helps. maybe pop that shit open and have a look?

if its on a laptop but i kinda doubt it you can just turn down your speakers for sound and it will turn the modem speaker down, or your isp setup might have an option to turn your modem speaker off

This is how you do it

start>settings>control panel>modem>properties>speaker volume down

you are done

the extras settings is extra work may get in the way if you have a string
