yes, but a taco truck is no comparison to a good sit-down taqueria with chips and beer...

You just have to find the right taco truck that's located near a liquor store. One night, after a Club Hot show years ago, I found out that International and High is the spot on a Saturday night for hot and heavy taco truck action. There were about 300 braceros (cowboys) and journaleros (day laborers, aka chuntalones) hanging out, all decked out in cowboy gear, eating tacos and blasting Norteno music...quite a sight. The one in the Goodwill parking lot on International in the twenties is good, too. Also, the weekend Laney flea market comes through if you're lazy and don't want to go too deep to get a dollar taco. There was a taco truck at 32nd and San Pablo for years, but I haven't seen it since I moved back. That wasn't the best hangout spot, though...I used to just grab my food to go and head back to West Oakland.

Taquerias and taco trucks are few and far between north of the lake, and I agree with you on the sit-down joints with beer. El Farolito in Fruitvale is pretty good, even better than the SF ones.

I still agree with Saze, though...taco trucks truly define Oakland for me, somehow. What's your favorite East Bay spot?

Oh, yeah...Cash, are you gonna check this out? If so, I'll bring some vodka to mix with the free Red Bull...get nice n' stuuuurrrrred. Otherwise, I'll just get stuurrrrrred on the dolo and laugh at fools as they crash into the toilet- I mean, the bay.

Actually, maybe we should get a 12 oz. meeting spot together so we can coordinate a mighty Voltron-style shit- talking unit...I'll even try to dig up a megaphone so we can HOLLLLLLLLLLLLLLAAAAA!!!!!!!!!!! and fuck with the Marina dwellers. They deserve it.

And, to any of you that think this idea is lame...you know that in the back of your mind, you realize that this could have serious Potential...damn, I'm already drunk. Fuck it, we should do this. Who's game?

my band practices a few blocks away from that truck... i eat there every wednesday...

i might go so far as to say that that's my favorite truck in the beast, although all the trucks on international are within a few shades of badical...

also, word to the 12oz station at the plane shit...

Wait a minute...do you practice at 47th and San Leandro? I know the dude who runs that place, or used to run it.

And, I just saw my partner-in-crime in the Mission tonight, and he's talking about a move to the Town...I hope he does, I need some motivation over here.

So, we gotta plan this Red Bull thing...I'll PM some of the folks here who said they were going...try to rally the troops.

Maybe I'll convince my girlfriend to come along, and film the carnage...I'm getting excited just thinking about it- a bunch of 12 ozers, all hopped up on Red Bull and God knows what else, turned loose on that crowd...if there was a video, it would be pure gold. I'll see what she's got planned.

crazy, i clicked on this thread, and as soon as i finished reading "redbull air race", and started wondering, what the hell is that a commercial came on TV and showed me exactly what it was. what a strange coincedence.

wait, san francisco is gay?

Yes, the City came out of the closet in 1973, and never looked back. He now lives in the Castro with his life partner, Raoul, and their three Doberman companion animals...

sucka free? sf? hah! theres probably more sucking (dick) going on in san fran than any other city on earth.

Only when you're in town. The last time you came through, the entire city caved into the ocean. :gaga: :gaga: :gaga:

It's getting to be about that time....who's gonna make it??? And, how do we meet up? Cash, I had a rough week but I'll get at you tonight.

Anyone else who's in on this...we gotta make a meeting spot. Like, tonight, if possible.
