Any fight scene in Ong Bak shits on this one. Choreographed as they were, some dudes REALLY got their grills bashed in good during filming. One dude on a motorcycle gets a flying knee to the face that actually knocked him out for a few seconds, you can see it in the extras.

I saw the trailer for the sequel to Ong Bak while I was in Bangkok this summer. It looks fucking amazing! I don't know when it's coming out, though, but it's gonna be badass.

it's only worth watching for the octopus scene. you can stop it after that.

i totally agree. i thought this film was so boring.

and in terms of comments about korean or japanese tv being outrageous thats actually very very false. japanese tv is very tame. at night it can be a little sexist/erotic/perverted but actually its really boring. any weird shit you guys are seeing is from porn or special pay per view shows. porn in japan has mosaics on it, so in order to get people to still be interested in it they take shit to a different level. literally.

asian film in general, especially in places like thailand and south korea, their movies are getting better and better every year. hk fell off because of piracy, and japanese film just plain ol sucks the big dick. there are ofcourse the few titles that are translated and distributed overseas but believe me those represent like 1%, everything else that doesnt come over is just straight up cheap indy trash. i continually have high hopes for stuff only to watch it and regret not renting some crappy hollywood action flick. old japanese film is awesome in so many ways, it just lacks a quick storyline.

im really bad with remembering the titles but korean stuff that i liked was my neighbors dog,(something like that) attack the gas station (its been out forever but i love that film.) my wife the gangster part 1(again i have no clue of the name but something like that) i dont have subtitles so i have to watch it in japanese and its pretty annoying to listen to dubbed actors so i dont usually check too many korean dvds out.

japanese: (recent) survival style 5, kekko kamen, ( really low budget but if you like go nagai its worth it) yoshino barber shop, zebraman,

old stuff anything kurosawa, seijun suzuki, and the guy that directed tampopo, taxing woman... his name escapes me but he was killed by the yakuza for making fun of them in his films.
