I still remember the first time I caught his work, I was buying some film in the store to go benching, and I went into the restroom and noticed a Riot tag scribed in the glass. I didn't think much of it at first until I started going into my yard (this is when I first starded getting into graff) I have a pic of the first riot piece I saw, and i remember looking at it and thinking, "yo, that tag looks just like that scribe in that mirror".

Riot had dozens of tags and at least one piece on every train I saw, he was one of the first writers I started noticing and a big influence on me. Then, about a year later, when I saw what happened on the news and seeing RIP RIOT everywhere, and eventually finding out who he was I was like, hoooooly shit. Then I read an article about him and the accident on the internet and I was just looking at my screen, paralyzed, for like ten minutes just thinking about him, I think I was in shock. I used to go to his shows a while back, I had some of his music, I've even talked to him once before, and all the time I had no idea, not even suspected it was him.

Since then I've always considered him my biggest influence to graff, a true graffiti soldier. He's been a big influence on a lot of people, not just with graff but on life too.

most people who would drive 14 hours to play a set in a seattle squat full of pissdrunk tweakers would be understandibly tired and annoyed. Riot beat the shit out of the house with p*&%^$ax just bouncing off the walls while watching laylow. Even in the crowd for the opening band he was all out, and when it came time for par%1#x the whole place was waiting to see what he did next. He Rocked the squat, made some freinds, and kept everybody into it. B had a genuinely warm honest persona and it made an impression on lots of people up here. Some saw him again and some didn't... there aren't enough people like B around and thats fucked. So if your'e ever lucky enough to meet someone else who is genuinley happy just for existing and living... pay attention; they got somethig going.
