Drive is dope, mostly mouthbreathing, knuckle-draggers tend to find it lame.

If you need a blockbuster with a Hollywood ending, skip it. Sorry, no major metropolises blow up, nor does the action character punch a tank... hell, I don't think there is one second of CGI in it.... and the 'drive' does not refer to driving cars.

Paul Thomas Anderson, director of 'There Will be Blood' doesn't dissapoint

supposedly phillip seymour hoffmans best performace yet.

ill still see end of watch before i see this tho, just genre preference

this was twisted, sad, intense, obviously a great performance by theron

but ricci came through well with a very similar brand of redneck desparity

that i dont necessarily like to see, but was engaging nonetheless.

  • 2 weeks later...

..and i saw end of watch, which was pretty mehhh...

i thought if the rest of the movie was more like the

climax of the film, which is very difficult in terms of

maintaining that level of excitement, it wouldve been

better. too much mushy shit trying to be passed off

as "character development".

i guess i was just expecting something more action packed

thats something ill wait until its on hbo or whatever and i just flip thru it

on the note of prometheus though, i saw shame a few weeks ago and

was watching x-men first class again last night, and i realized michael

fassbender might be the best actor in the game right now. he has this

cold, articulate delivery that is absolutely terrifying. id love to see him

play some type of psycho serial killer, ala norman bates or hannibal lecter.

and i dont even like sushi, but then again

i never ate at Jiro's restaurant!

With the cheapest meal at his restaurant being around $300 I don't believe I ever will attempt to eat there.

Fish and rice ain't that good.

Definitely gonna peep that Ill manors flick ive heard good things about it.

Also, "Freelancers" with 50 cent and Robert Deniro was good. peep it

Ill Manors tried too hard and ended up being just like every other British hood film only slightly better, but at the same time slightly worse somehow.

Nigger, you thought Freelancers was good?

Plz explain to me how your mind allowed you to think this.

Guarantee all the Prometheus haters liked it until they saw some movie phaggot Alien nerd rip it apart.

Beta phaggytime ass dewdz.

< Alien nerd

I deemed my not hating the movie the first run through solely on my obsession with alien since a young age and the nostalgia of alien imagery. But my high hopes that it would turn into an intelligent prequel for the original combined with general confusion throughout the film led me to say "maybe i should watch that again". So I tried (and failed), then tried again (and failed again), and it was at this moment that I realized that my confusion the first run through was reasonable and pretty heavily based on how fucking stupid the film was.

That all said I did enjoy it the first time, but I wouldn't watch it again and I probably wouldn't suggest it to someone else.

TLDR?

prometheus was not what I - among others - expected.

entertaining? maybe. intelligent? no
