we're sharing links to torrents and torrent search engines

you can download just about anything via torrents.

go grab shareaza at shareaza.com and grab peerguardian, too.

http://www.methlabs.org

then download torrent and use shareaza to download the program, music, movie, tv show, etc, etc.

http://www.myspleen.net

Everything Adult Swim. Also, MST3K, Star Wars fan edits, random stand-up routines, and random goodies like the Hitchiker's Guide radio series.

http://www.demonoid.net has lots of movies and software and comics. They open registration every once in a while but not always.

http://www.torrentspy.com is a good search program but often you have to have an account on whatever comes up.

Yeah, demonoid is great, you do a search for any movie posts and see if anything you like comes up from the past couple of days. Usually get great rates on new stuff. It's like going to the video store. I'll see if I can get you an account.

Torrents with more seeders/leechers always run faster because everyone is pumping out data.

Sometimes a torrent can take a while to get started. I was d/ling the 4th season of Home Movies this week and it started at 4k/sec or so and eventually climbed up to 50k/sec and stayed that way through 2 gigs. Near the end they always slow down as less and less people have the data you are looking for.

Firewalls could potentially slow things down, wireless definitly did for me, I had a wireless connection during the winter and was a good distance from the router and on something like Aqua Teen Hunger Force when it would be put up after it aired and there would be over a hundred seeders, I would top out at about 80k/sec. Now that I have a direct connection to my cable modem I can get up to 400k/sec.

tvtorrents.com is great for all the popular tv shows, but the site goes down a lot because it gets overloaded.

Awesome bittorrent client: http://www.bitcomet.net/

http://www.filelist.org/ | Good site, open registration (for now), ratio based seed/downloads. Has all kinds of shit, recommended.

www.filemp3.org | Sister site to filelist.org, open registration (for now), ratio based seed/downloads. All mp3s of all kinds. Some pretty rare and obscure shit at times. Recommended for the audiophile.

http://www.torrent-damage.net/ | All kinds of different stuff, games, movies, music, good site. Currently is closed registration, and I have no tickets #s available atm, but you can go to their mIRC channel and beg for one. It's worth it.

http://isohunt.com/ | Torrent indexing site, larger indexing than the late great Suprnova had at it's peak. Already under MPAA radar, so don't expect it to be around forever. I like it.

http://www.mininova.org/ | Pretty big site, all different stuff, anime, porn, movies, games, a rather large amount of eBooks. Getting a little too big and noobish (like Suprnova did). Will probably be under watch soon, if not already, so I don't really fuck with this site too much. Even so, you can find some good stuff here.

That's all i really get down with. Bittorrent is under fire right now, feds are involved and shit, so I limit myself in what sites I use now. You should too. I advise you don't download high publicity releases of movies and games, until (or unless) a reputable group releases it. Know the difference between rips and propers, divx vs dvd rips, what a nuked release means, and which groups do REAL propers. It will save you trouble in the long run.

And always, always, fucking seed your downloads (unless it's from somewhere huge and red hot gay like mininova, fuck that site). 1:1 is always an acceptable ratio.
