GnomeToys Posted July 4, 2005 Share Posted July 4, 2005 A Very GnomeToys Sunday Somewhere around noon I awoke from my first good night of sleep in about 5 days. Somehow I managed to eat a good enough combination of sleeping pills that I got my 8 hours and then some in. Thus, at high noon, my day began. After waking up to find a two yappy boston terriers running around my yard, and chasing them off, I decided to set out for the trails near the river: I didn't really have a destination or length of walk in mind, but I did remember that I found a small field of weed somebody had growing there around 2 years ago, when it wasn't mature, and was hoping to stumble across it again... I found a bunch of wild morning glories instead. None had formed seeds yet, but I ate a few of the immature pods for good luck. It continues... To my right, I noticed an old truck trail through the woods, and followed it for awhile. Something prompted me to stare off through the trees, and I noticed a creek in the distance, with no trail leading to it. I decided to wander out there anyway.... In the middle of the woods, I find a small creek with all manner of garbage dumped along it. Car parts from the 70s, bricks, bikes, pill bottles, you name it. It seemed to be heavy metal mainly. I followed it up to its source.... This was a great find for me. Being a sewer rat is a hobby I had all but given up on because of lack of interesting drains around here. This one was 12 feet high, in the middle of nowhere, and I'll be damned if I'm not exploring it by Tuesday afternoon. I found a friend out there too... I took him home with me and allowed him to smoke from a glass tobacco pipe that was casually resting on my table when we returned... Then set off some rigged up smoke bombs...
