if its as easy to get a M endorsement in Tundraland as it is the states...

it's a bit different. we have what's called 'graduated liscences'.

in ***** the process of acquiring a licence to ride a motorcycle is a done in stages. You must successfully test out of each stage until you have gained your full M licence. The whole process can take from 18 months at the earliest to 5 years at the latest.

but you can ride with only a written test.

18 monthes to 5 years!!!

holy crap! what kind of motorcycles do you have up there?

Yeah, you can ride (single..no passenger) and in daylight with a permit here. The test is a simple skills test that pretty much involves the rider showing that they know how to balance, shift, brake and steer the bike.

it's like this....

the 'M1' is the learners and is valid for 90 days.

no passenegers, no freeways, no nights, zero alcohol.

then there's a road test for your 'M2'. All the restrictions

of the M1 are lifted except for the zero blood-alcohol level.

You have to ride with the M1 for 18 months with a saftey course

or 22 months without before you can test for the full 'M' class.
