but if it really penetrated that deep you could be looking at a serious infection....go see a doctor. get some antibiotics just in case.

this advice comes to you from the son of a military nurse....

the son incidently injured himself quite a bit.

Bactine may help a little. Keep it clean of course. Get some butterfly strips to keep it remotely closed. Rubbing Alcohol burns like the raging fires of deepest hell but it will keep that shit clean. keep it under gause (sp) and bandaged well. Try and keep it as closed as possible and don't do anything to strain it. Your going to have one hell of a scar to tell your grandkids about.

seriously, get that thing checked out. if it get's infected, you could be in really bad shape. antibiotics. ethyl alcohol will kill bacteria.. it will hurt like all hell, but if you just flood the wound with it every day, and put a bandage on it and change that every day, it might help. clean it as much as you can. keep it dry. methiolate is also good, or mercuricrome (sp?).. if it's really an inch or an inch and a half deep, you REALLY SHOULD GO TO THE DOCTOR. just DON'T LET IT GET INFECTED!!!

oh yeah, and watch out for tetnus too.
