George Dubyah Bush
Eh, i hate it wen people listen to too many bands that you've never heard of.........i mean they're probably good, but i mean there's no way for a connection here, no common grounds to build an opinion on. But oh well, cheers if you're into that black/death/grindcore/thrash metal stuff. Most of those bands can rock hard and shred punker bands to pieces Whats with that! everyone and there grandma has a freakin punk band down here. Jesus.........I mean im not against trends, but how long can you do the same shit over and over and over, and still call it/think you're doing something new and exciting??? fuck it, im in the process of making music with a few other indiviuduals and hope fully we can rock the socks off lame ass scene. Sorry to go way off topic. and no you cannot have my teeth. Their straighteness has cost my parents thousands upon thousands of dollars
ZackAttack
not to start an argument but I don't know if I'd call punk rock a trend. It has probably been along much longer than you have. Much Much longer. Now, Jay-Z, yes, Barney on TV, yes, New Kids On The Block, yes, french cuffs, yes.......trendy. Now; Computers, no, Food, no, Graffiti, no, Sex, no, Cars, no, Punk rock, no..... not trendy. Sorry, it just bugged me hehe...... i like to openly enjoy many types of music from punk rock to reggae to hip hop to jungle, to jazz to funk to electro, to hardcore to latin even, and much more..... as for cool album covers i immediately thought of the Vandals "Live Fast Diarrhea" and Operation Ivy's "Energy"; their singer, jesse was a cool singer and still is a great artist. Some tribe called quest shit is sweet... and Kr430n5_666 I can't believe you like zao! (?) haha sweet
George Dubyah Bush
Response Of course punk started way long ago, but I would definately call punk a trend. Well, as of now, punk pop/emo is a trend. It's like, the most associated and known type of rock music right now, and its enjoying alot of sucess and time inthe limelight. Plus , there's a plethora of punk bands out there right now, and its whats happening, and its whats on the radio. I'll call that trendy. Rap has been around for along time now too , but as of now, its trendy as well because it's considered a large part of music, lots of people listen to it, its popular, its heard of the radio alot, and its played on mtv alot, and alot of kids choose to wear that genre of clothing. Alternative bands like 311, radiohead, primus, incubus, and hard rock bands like tool,.....etc etc..........Aren't being played constantly, or aren't in the top 40's.........(ehhhh, well incubus are enjoying alot of fame now, )....but what im saying is the type of music they choose to bring to the forefront isn't easily catorized, neither is it being played by many other bands, and in turn enjoyed and listened to by many people. That stuff isn't as popular so i wouldn't consider it as the in thing to do, or trendy. But punk/hardcore/emo...is definately the "in" thing to be lisetning to/being apart of...... esos mi dos centavos
