Sure, orange dots WILL work for a while but the orange insert will just keep popping off. So, prepare to use quite a handful if you're going to use 'em. Rustofills Posted November 24, 2009 Share Posted November 24, 2009 He means the new style elmers caps Here's the issue with the so called new style elmers glue caps. They do look alot like Rustofats. They are not rustofats. They work but not as good as an actual Rustofat. If you hold a real Rustofat next to the Elmers glue cap. You should notice that the Elmers glue caps stem is a tiny bit longer. For some reason this effects the way the paint sprays out. It is not as wide at a real Rustofat. It could be a fluke that I got a batch of funny Elmers glue caps when I last went and popped some off the Elmers cans at my local art store. But those shitters are not as nice as the shorter stemmed real Rustofats. Perhaps something has changed in the last year,As I have not botherd going and grabbing Elmers caps sence i noticed that. In doikng so they also switched caps to something that resembles a Boston Thin. It is not however a BT...its a fatcap, this is what I was referring to when I said new style.
