Weapon X
Excellent, man. The stadium shots were just the icing on the cake. Wasn't Dazed and Confused filmed there, too? If I ever visit my cousin in Houston, I'm gonna make him take me to Ausin. I've watched the ACL on TV a few times. What time of year does it take place? Also, I think they should sweep that Leslie Cochran dude under the carpet. Or throw him in the Austin LakethatlookslikeaRiver. Definitely not a boon to the image of the city. Now that you pointed it out, it does look like my fifth-grade presentation/report on a state. I did Hawaii, by the way. <!--QuoteBegin-Weapon X@Feb 18 2005, 07:03 AM Wasn't Dazed and Confused filmed there, too? If I ever visit my cousin in Houston, I'm gonna make him take me to Ausin. ACL the TV show (filmed in a studio) goes on over a good portion of the year. The outdoor Festival, which only lasts three days, happens in September. I've got nothing but love for Leslie. seeking
i was in austin for exactly one night. i did a show at (the world famous) emo's. i ate at an awesome vietnamese place...then denny's. i dont know anyone there (other than you poop) but i'd move there in a second just for the fuck of it. what's the job market like down there right now? how's the cost of living?
Poop Man Bob
seeks, Here's a great link discussing the cost of living here in town. The housing market is ridiculously expensive right now, depending on where you'd be buying - but I'm assuming that, if you were to move here, you wouldn't immediately be purchasing a house. The job market, unfortunately, can be tough. Since UT is here in town, there is a constant influx of new graduates that pours out into Austin each year, and most of them want to stay in town. With that said, there are still jobs available, obviously. I suppose it all depends on where you want to work/what you want to do, but you seem to be a jack of all trades that would be willing to try something new just to have a job. Deep enough? To be honest, I've never tried. It is pretty shallow right near the waterfall (the actual waterfall hits rocks that are directly below it: see here.) So, honestly, I don't know. I assume someone has done it.

nomadawhat
i went to austin way back in the day... cool spot. all i remember is barton springs, UT football practice, the heat, and 6th street. oh and, i was almost arrested for underage drinking right around 6th street..but even the cops were cool. well besides making me pour my drink out. my good buddy grew up there and his mom works with SXSW. i have always meant to get out there for that... sometime, sometime. villain
I've always heard that austin is nice. Austin must be the oasis. And property is dirt cheap in Texas. How about we all move to texas and take it over? Step aside for the cowboys from hell!
