The USSR killed even more people than Germany over a longer period of time. I guess everyone is capable of the greatest possible evil, or kindness.

to my knowledge, when a major event like this happens in a country at one

point in time, the government usually regulates about printed materials,

and what is taught in schools, to pretty much keep it under wraps and deny

any event as such existed.

 

 

but that's just what i've heard through the grapevine

word. stalin killed 6-7 million ukrainians in the early 30's. the ukranian peasantry were a particularly troublesome source of rebellion since the very beginning of the Soviet Union
