seeking Posted December 22, 2004 Share Posted December 22, 2004 so, my sister lives in miami right. she used to manage a bar owned by chris blackwell (island records) that had a recording studio in it. it was later bought by some crazy muslims who wanted a recording studio for their son, but that has nothing to do with the story. wacky arabs. anyway. because of that, she's constantly calling me with random stories of ridiculous people she's been hanging out with. not like, just seeing at the bar, but literally like, hanging out with and doing shit. anyway, this week it's jeru the damaja. if this was 1994, i'd be all stoked on the idea, but now dude is just a fallen off herb. still though, it's funny imaging this big pro-black wacky brooklyn rapper in his mid 30's, hanging out with my little white sister. she totally isnt a whore at all either, so it's not like she's just banging these guys, she's just really fun to kick it with. the funniest part of all of this though, is my mom calling me last night going 'hey, what do you know about some rapper named jeru the 'daaa-mah-jaaahhhh?'' ha. i dont know why, but she insisted on always saying his name all expressive and drawn out, like from a kung fu movie or something. it was funny. anyway, thats all i have for today. merry christmas everyone. I can't say I've gotten to chill with famous people, but a friend of mine got his first credits on the new Nas album, and works and hangs with Wycliff and Talib Kweli and people like that. I saw Ethan Hawke on the street one day, and I onced delivered dog food to the blonde actress from 3rd Rock from the Sun, with the deep voice and big boobs. Still, that pales in comparison. 2 blaazed Posted December 22, 2004 Share Posted December 22, 2004 DUDE, jeru used to litterally live right next door to my best friend back in the day in brooklyn (westminister ave) He was mad chills...he lived in this fucked up lookin house..But inside it was nice..i used to see him 5 or 6 times a day...it came to the point where we would just start ragging each other when we seen each other...after about 2 years he moved out...some great times had with that dude...i ran into him at a show the summer before last...he got me backstage and we kicked it all night... My girl flew us down so we could pay some of the dj's that she had booked for the event.
