tons of young people voted, the only problem was that tons of right wingers and christians voted on morality alone...hence our president's reelection...

on a lighter note about puffy's "vote or die" campaign: luda, nelly and paris hilton werent even REGISTERED to vote, yet they were posterpeople for the campaign. i think that alone shows where most young people are at these days.

it's really sicken me to death when all of a sudden these hiphopers trendy fucks register to be kool because the "hiphop" community leaders like p.diddy and all these fuck face rappers asking them to go vote but not as a responsible action. this guy i know registered to vote (gladly he did vote for kerry) all talking about how the hiphop community got him to vote and telling everyone about it.

i think that the weapon missing and the tape of osama really planted a fear in a lot of voters. since the start of the campaign, bush portrait kerry as a pussy and i guess that's why people want bush to be back in office. it's sad to see people voting base on fear, lies and propaganda planted by corporates.

in a lighter note, i would love to see bush fuck up all the promises and by that hopefully the republican candidates will never have a greater chance to become our next president.

etch sounds like a reasonable tool for me to exercise my hatred towards bush and his supporters.

...this sucks...i have been so pissed all day...even more than i hate bush...i hate fuckin carl rove!...i blame him almost single handedly for destroying the already weak idea of democracy in this country...he runs political campigns like a marketing plan...and the worst part is that it fuckin worked...he actually made facts mean less than catch phrases to people...all hope is gone...

That's why I have respect for Rove, like I have respect for the Devil.

Bush, on the other hand, is a completely different story. Rove was a college dropout who worked his way up to the top of the world, whereas Bush is just a dumb, rich kid who always wanted to be a fighter pilot, but couldn't because of his shortcomings, so he decided to run for president instead. or something like that. I'm gonna boo the Rangers hard next season.

There's nothing wrong with ANYONE [trendy, hiphop, whatever] encouraging people to vote. Especially if its non-partisan. I dont give a fuck what celebrity they use, as long as its working.

The only problem is, kids dont care about what they are voting for. They dont pay attention to whats going on. Especially down south. They just vote based on who their friends, or parents are voting for. Especially Republicans. Even if they cant fucking spell Republican, or know what it means...southern white kids'll vote that way, just because daddy is.

Black folks too. The ones in the boondocks, with 3 trailers put together, and 5 mailboxes in front. They voted for Bush aswell. But if you asked them why, they couldnt tell you.

Can we just make California/oregon/washington its own country? Can we make New England/NY/Pennsylvania its own country? I sure as fuck want nothing to do with Wyoming.

There is a fiction book about this called Ecotopia where the Northwest secedes from the US and becomes an organized but tribally influenced society with human rights and environmental issues as the priorities of the country...

Other fiction topia books:

'We' by Yevgeny Zamyatin <Regarded as the book 1984 was stolen from>

'Looking Backward' by Edward Bellamy <Essentially a book about the implementation of true socialism with workers rights and a society that provides for all people and expects only what they can give, not the Tyrannical Russian version that became the standard>

On that note..from what I understand rape and possible death are the only stipulations to the partial birth abortion law that's currently in place

Actually that is not the case, this law has been over turned by like 3 seperate federal districts because it does not make exceptions for the womens health or life...but it passed congress, they love it, they hate you and your desire for fair treatment and self control. They want to punish you for not waiting until marriage, even Kabar basicly has said this in a nother thread - only he/they call it "being responcible for your actions" as if mistakes happen only to reckless abortion happy sluts who don't care about their actions...

Scrabble: it's not just the black folk in the south that aren't thinking about their votes, it's half the damn country. I bet if you asked 5 people why they voted the way they did, three of them would say "because I'm a democrat/republican." Fucking people need to think.

For my retarded computer applications class (graduation requirement) I had to make a website with Microsoft Word. I did mine on progressive politics and the internet. It was pretty good, so the teacher had me present it to the class today. I got to the part about MoveOn, and she got all up in my shit about how they're "really extremist liberals" that are "over the edge leftists." Keep in mind this woman "used to work in business sales" and misused the word their/there/they're on her fucking resume. I was pissed, so I told her that they've got more than a million members and if caring about the environment, not wanting to start wars all over the world, and preserving rights for women, gays, and minorities was "over the edge leftist" then she's talking to someone so far left he's gone around the block.

i am all for parties representing ideologies.

it is just too bad that both represent the same one.

all this vote for the person not the party crap

is a result of that fact.

vote red. no the other red.

peace.

ps-- nekro i feel you on the whole "leftist"

issue in this country. if any of these dipshits

ever met a real leftist they would crap their pants.

i wish there was a communist or socialist party

in this country with some clout so the neo-cons

would really have something to worry about,

like their private property. liberal is not left.

which now that Bush has been re-elected will probably be changed to no abortions in the second trimester because babies can live and have lived even if they're born in the fourth or fifth month of pregnancy)>>>

i disagree i think it's only a matter of time until roe vs wade is overturned all together. to the right wing bible thumpers life doesn't just matter in the second trimester. it matters from the get go- conception. what it is the first month or so there's a heartbeat i think? i've read articles that bush is pushing to do away with the morning after pill also not positive on it however.... and here in florida under 18 year old girls now have to ask mommy and daddy if they can have an abortion. america is ass backwards.

I was speaking in terms of literal actual fact:a baby born in the fourth or fifth month can survive on an incubator and because of that and the fact he had already passed this first law we will inevitably be taken one step closer to no abortions at all.

you just reminded me of something I was talking to my boyfriend about the other day..

Back in the day the world was terrified of communists in the same way we 'fear' 'terrorists' today. The capitalist american government made communists out to be these horrible dangerous people so that Americans wouldn't get any wise ideas.

Remember Senator Joe McCarthy circa 1950-ish blacklisting suspected communists from America (Charlie Chaplin was exiled from the U.S because Joe McCarthy pointed the finger at him) Somehow there was an investigation of some kind which produced a list of 200 suspected communists in America mostly celebs and well known politicians this "supposed" list landed in the lap of podunk politician Joe McCarthy, which he turned into a national affair...

Basically if they pointed the finger at you you were investigated and if they found you to be communist (they sometimes did even though you were about as communist as scrambled eggs) you were exiled or imprisoned. The point is that fool had people scared shitless. People were afraid to take a political stand for fear they would appear tooo liberal and be accused of communitst activity..Turns out it was all bullshit to begin with..He just used the communist thing as a platform for his political career..I don't think he got anywhere though.

Anyway it reminds me of Bush and his war on terror and the patriot act..

Joe McCarthy= Bush

Communism= Terrorism

Blacklist= Patriot Act

Bush is essentially doing the same thing..he's got the whole country freaked out about terrorists and the fear of speaking out or taking a political stand because fools don't want to get swooped on by the Patriot Act

you know, i'm depressed about bush being re-elected, and utterly shocked at the popular vote. i can't believe that he had a 3 million vote lead. what in the hell is wrong with the people in our country.

but what scares me just as much is that they gained even more seats in the senate and the house. this means that people who i whole-heartedly disagree with now fully control two of the branches of my government, while i am left helpless and without a voice. furthermore, we all know that in these next four years bush will have to appoint atleast one, if not more, justices to the supreme court. they will control all of the branches of my government, and i will have no voice.

this is bull shit

Seeking - What happened with people at polling places trying to stop minorities from voting? I didn't hear anything about that.

im not seeking but--

in ohio there were republican challengers

who could challenge your eligibility and if

they did this you would cast a provisional

ballot and then your vote would be counted

only after your eligibility had been verified.

however many people when pressed might

simply go home and if they hung around

provisional ballots have a way of not counting.

that is the deal more or less.

otherwise there is always the whole sharing

a name with a felon thing where say you have

the same or similar name as a convicted felon.

they wont let you vote even if you arent that person.

and as far as the e-voting goes when they first

tested that shit out a kid hacked it in five minutes.

i dunno the source but that was the word.

well, greg palast is reporting that the repubes have

pulled virtually the same shenanigans as last time.

i don't know how rock solid his allegations are,

but his reports are solid any other day of the week.

i listened to air america at work all day today.

depressing as hell..and i concur that it's incredibly hard

to believe that kerry lost. i really really thought he would

take it.

an open letter to the world...

I seriously hope that something happens and Bush somehow gets a change of heart.

That's like pre-election saying I hope America has a change of heart and votes for Kerry. It didn't happen as you can see. Not to mention this fool has ruthlessly killed American soldiers and innocent people in another country all for cash...I really doubt he's gonna wake up tomorrow and say "hmm..I think I have enough money I think I'll put an end to this war now"

thats why I added "but thats less likely than kerry beating bush, so im not counting on it." after that.

but hey, never hurts to dream...

Someone will get punched in their fucking face tonight.. Etch is a lovely idea aswell.. Good thing I live in a GOP state, there'll be enough targets... School is going to be interesting tomarrow too, pencil stabbings galore.. FUCK US!

I just thought of a great character intro for that prison drama OZ, oh well, you know, if it was still on the air. Dude gets busted for hosting graffiti writers he met on the internet with the shared purpose of drowning his Republican state in FUCK BUSH etch bath. I loved that character intro shit they did.

And whoever said they lived in metro Detroit where they voted Dem, I would be surprised if metro anywhere voted for Bush. I'm not talking about suburbs here, just city.
