A television frame grab, shot by Arab satellite news channel Al Jazeera, shows what they say is an explosion in Kabul October 11, 2001. President George W. Bush offered Afghanistan's ruling Taliban a last chance to surrender Osama bin Laden as the world's Muslims held their first Friday prayers since he launched air raids on Taliban strongholds. As Bush spoke, U.S. warplanes pounded targets in Afghanistan for a fifth successive night. (Al Jazeera via Reuters)

Commercial jetliners sit idle at Mojave Airport in the desert town of Mojave, Calif., Thursday, Oct. 11, 2001, where there's been a ten-fold increase in the number of planes mothballed at the site since the Sept. 11 attacks. Reason for the increase is reduced flights due to public fears and the general poor economy for the nation's airlines. (AP Photo/Ric Francis)
