Sofles.

I love sofles graff but along with lots of other graff its getting harder to distinguish between a city's style or an individual's style. Seems it's just how many doo dads and flares and fade outs you can put into a piece to make it look cool, but has no structure, no foundation.

I have been working on a similar style and there is always foundation. The difficult part of painting like this is being able to build balance between the structure and chaos. I think Sofles does so well in this piece. Foundation is great I love some sound style, but what Im working on and others seem to be at the same time is a new more painterly style that doesnt need to be constrained to any outline background or formula. For me to be able to build layer after layer in the same manner I would a painting is a way for me to not just put ever trendy element in one piece, its about building a deep and One of kind moment. Each one of the pieces will have its own identity that day. I know it sounds like some artfag shit but realistically we can push foundation just as much as we push new ideas and new forms of pieces. They are there to balance each other both in their extremes.

You should definitely lodge a complaint with the Complaint Dept.
