TheoHuxtable
As many may already know, the world famous Belmont Tunnel or Belmont Yard in Los Angeles will be destroyed so a new apartment complex can be built. Belmont was the oldest and most recognized yard in Los Angeles. Writers from all over L.A. and the world, including New York legends like SEEN, BLADE, and DUSTER have hit up here. Many writers from around the Los Angeles area and the world, as well as Pacific Electric rail enthusiasts have been visiting the Tunnel for months now, to get a "last glimpse" before she closes. If you haven't visited it already, you still have time. From what I understand construction is supposed to start in another 2 to 3 months. Originally called the "Toluca Yard", the "Toluca Station", and the "Toluca Tunnel", I have enclosed a tribute with various pictures of Belmont Tunnel throughout the years as a personal respect to the yard, as I have many fond memories of that place. There would've been a strong possibility that by the 80's we would've had graff scene on the cars. The growing population of automobiles and the construction of freeways in the decades following WWII led to the dismantlement of the "Big Red Cars". LA has a rail system now that was started in the early 90's, but it's not as vast as the old Pacific Electric railways or cities like New York and Tokyo. But the rail system is slowly starting to spread out.

Guest me IS cool
It wasn't legal but the law really didn't give a shit about it, but I'm not sure. Also the belmont is in gang territory and people would get their shit jacked, (be it paint, cameras, shoes whatnot). You just had to know when to go. :king:

Guest imported_b0b
That place is infamous, be it in photos, movies or just the stories of gang troubles. Was it as bad as folks say down there? For the stories I read on the net, it sounded like you 95% likely to get robbed down there. Anyone got any crazy storied from down there? Like stories with chases ans shootings? Like stories with chases ans shootings? It's not that bad. I've gone alone on a few occassions. But at the same time I prefer going with at least one or two other people. But for the most part it's safe, especially in the daytime when the Latinos are playing soccer there.
mozartone
Belmont in a movie. Transit the movie is dropping on June 15th. There is a cool scene we shot at Belmont. I'm sorry to hear it's going to be destroyed, luckily I captured it in my movie and it'll be there forever to represent. Nice old school pictures by the way of Belmont. Check out the transit preview at www.customflix.com/205808 or www.transitmovie.com Peace, Mozart one
