Under constant surveillance

Recommended Posts

Guest imported_Tesseract

These last two years i've been reading and hearing all kinds of scenarios on new-age-digital-surveillance.Cases like Echelon,Big brother, email encryption etc,Made me think about it from time to time.

I tend to be a little paranoid over these kind of things.

But now, i couldnt care less.

It seems to me that the information age is so overinformed that its loosing its sence.

I mean there are so many "violations" or "personal data" taking place and being recorded for every one of us,That it seems we still remain anonymous.

I don't agree. It's dangerous. My only hope is that law enforcement only has time/motivation/funding/orders to go after the worst of the worst.

I'm starting to favor a meteor hitting the earth: not enough to destroy it, but enough damage to change the focus of the human survivors.

I agree that it is dangerous. All i am saying is that when directed to all it kind translates to gossip...its just funny that way.It takes a lot of time to decode data and the fact that the hierarchy remains the same in a way is really chaotic.

Anyways, its only a flipside on this thread, mostly dealing with an obssesion of mine to prove to my self that systems tend to blast their own heads off.Its always a matter of scale

Yes, I do believe we are constantly monitored in one way or another. But, does it really matter? We do live in a "snitch" society...and it is getting worse day by day.The police state is stronger than ever. And information is now going to be used against you.Conspiracy to committ a crime nowadays, holds the same weight as committing the actuial act.Fuck 'em.

but the brighter side is...should they actually try to prosecute you..you can fight that shit in court with the aclu and prove that its a unconstitutional invasion of privacy and hopefully that would be enough to get the case dissmissed.

but since i dont do anything that really effects anybody i really dont give two fucks..

maybe just like half a fuck..

but id give at least three fucks and possibly alot more should i get prosectuion because of a overactive big brother society..

next thing you know, they will sample your dna in all public restrooms.

i thought that there's just way too many people among the population to be able to monitor everyone, but now i heard the CIA or FBI have a computer that monitors all email and phones and automatically records and flags officials when certain words come up, like "robbing a bank" or "cocaine" etc... thats scary

BUG,thats Echelon. Its an NSA project. It has stations all over the world. But it seems that what you mention works more as a blind.

The thing is that it is used by US gov. to steal big deals from other countries. The european union does a legal fight to prove that.

i think that this message board right here is proof that its not that intense: you got people proffessing to committing crimes, posting pictures of the evidence, and most leaving an email address available. if authorities are unable to trace IP's from this site, it does't take much brain power to get IP's from email servers or photo hosting sites. and so far i haven't heard of this site used to trace anyone and get them busted.
