Omen, that walrus is great, and I like the third picture you posted, too.

I'm looking for a little feedback as well:

I don't think this T flows very well, but I like the rest.

I haven't outlined or colored this one, but I think I got the letters about right.

Talon- I would say to work with block letters because you dont seem to understand the anatomy of letters enough to deform them the way you do. the coloring and 3d is good though so work on developing those letters now.

Omen- The first two sketches are nice esp the 3d on the top of the second page your characters are pretty dope it's apparent your a good artist but your wildstyles need a lot of work, also your sketches where the letters blend together also dont work. I think you got an idea of basic letters but you need to focus on them individually not as a whole

hope this helps

after thinking about what you said for about 5 minutes, I'm beginning to see what you meant. thanks for the advice, and I'll act on it

Thanks, Onesecond. I don't think it's too bad either, but I still get what he was saying. I see spots in some of my letters that get kinda weird and I need to work on them.

I don't really think that it necessitates going back to block letters, but I definately need to look at what I'm doing a little closer and make some adjustments.

I wish I had seen this thread before today... I've only looked at this last page.

Talon... yea, shit is tough to hear sometimes but working with the simple anatomy of your letters is going to help you in the long run. Have you ever seen an Mber freight? If so, you know what I'm talking about when I say stick with going simple till it comes out naturally... when you don't have to even think about it. At that point, mix it up a little.

Omen... you're much like me when I first started. I couldn't stick to one style, I wanted to try everything. Did it pay off? I don't know... sorta? I love the piece where the E rolls off the right leg of the M. Real nice. And from looking at your pieces and your jibbly-bits around the pages... it's obvious you have talent. I'd roll with the semi-simple stuff for a while. Work at it till it burns... pun intended. Then start adding your arrows, bar extensions and so on. Right now you're all over the place, like a kid with ADD.

Then Away: That was from November. My newer stuff is down the page a lil bit

Joker: Yeah, hard to hear, but I'm over it now. I look back on the last 4 months and I see very little progression because I failed to work with really simple stuff.

Omen: That scion thing's pretty neat. Did you go to that Scion panel thing they had here a few weekends back? I forget what it was called and what gallery, but they had a bunch of writers paint the scions and they were showing them at an exhibit.

no i didn't go there (although i wish i had i_i). however, i did go to hense's exhibit-that's kinda where i got the idea for the scion-cuz they were handin' out scion cd's. thnx for the compliments tho'. joker, i understand what you're sayin' n' i'll try to stick to the simple stuff so it's second nature
