i attempted this hawking book in high school and read and enjoyed the first half of it. i can't remeber why i didn't finish it.

night shift was a great book. loved every story in there especially "the ledge" for some reason. i took it out from the library back in eighth grade to read on a family vacation to DC.

I've read about 11 or so king books in the past (probably more around 14). Desperation, The Regulators, Needful Things, The green mile series, Insomnia, and the massive work that is IT. As well as the short story collections Nightmares and Dreamscapes, Skeleton Crew, Nightshift and Everything's Eventual

I'm a huge fan of his short story works and theyre fuckin great for the nightstand during the summer when my reading slows to a crawl.

The best thing I've read from him is of course IT. I can remember being a little kid in around first grade and having my aunt read chapters of it to me and my cousins when we had sleepovers. Anyone who hasn't read this is missing out on one awesome book. Just sitting here in my basement alone thinking about that fuckin clown is scaring the fuck out of me. seriously. It just takes a few days or so of downright dedication to get through the 1300 pages of it. You'll be glad you read it.

A few weeks back I ate up "The Da Vinci Code" by Dan Brown in less than two days on the recommendation of a family member. Boy was it fun and addictive.

Now I'm reading all these news articles and stuff about there being a supposed craze about the damn book selling like hotcakes all over the US, cause people are going nuts about how it turns the concept of Jesus on its head, and how well researched the book is. Give it a quick read for some fun and interesting concepts about modern Catholicism.

One is The Westies by TJ English. Real great book about the NYC Hell's Kitchen irish mob. Straightened out alot of stuff for me in terms of the whole timeline of the gang. It has a ton of awesome stories and i think anyone would like it.

Another real good book that you'll fuckin love is My Life in The NYPD:Jimmy the Wags by James Wagner. Tells the story of this cop's career in the Alphabet City area in Manhattan. Its got a ton of gory grimey stories in it about the tons of lowlifes in this area during the 70's and 80's. I think it's a must read for anybody anywhere. A part of one chapter tells this story about some 15 year old girl from the midwest who ran away to new york city. the author gets some leads from different junkies in the neighborhood and eventually finds her in a derelict drug den tied up on a bed and had been continually raped by whoever happened to stumble through. It was so graphically detailed that I almost got sick to my stomach.

check them out man. great reading. pick them up in the social sciences section in your bookstore. i think they were like 7 or 8 apiece.

if you like reading about idiots on drugs, read fear and loathing in las vegas. if you're looking for nonfiction, read NO LOGO by somebody klein. i forgot her 1st name. it's about big companies taking over our minds. i disagree with alot of it, but alot of her points are also true.
