KaBar2
I just received word tonight of the death of another well-known hobo King, Ramblin' Rudy Phillips. He passed away in Shawneetown, Illinois, where he made his home. Funeral scheduled on Monday, January 12, 2004 at the First Baptist Church in Shawneetown. Cox & Son Funeral Home is handling the funeral. Again, anybody in or near Shawneetown or on the road is welcome. Another bro catches the Westbound. Man. What is happening this winter? KaBar2
No, I never met Ramblin' Rudy But he was definately a legend. And no, Rudy was not "The Rambler." That's a different guy. The guy that taught me about hopping freights was a man named Rufe, from Texas. My friends and I met him in a rail yard in Montana.
