TAREK OTE Posted August 2, 2004 Share Posted August 2, 2004 final thoughts aight everyone i just looked through this whole thread and saw the same thing over and over...."i'm new, gimme some constructive criticism" . the only difference between a newbie and a toy is that one bites other people's style really badly and the other uses his imagination but just hasnt perfected it yet. this is really apparent through all of the flix. so whether youre a newbie or a toy listen up cuz ill save you a few years of drawing during math class so hopefully youll be a good writer and youll pass math class. first things first, start simple. The first thing you ever draw graffiti wise should be a get up or a handstyle. cuz i guarantee you're first piece is gonna be a mix of arrows everywhere and unproportionate lines. give it time. everyone sucks at first. meet some people or look online and notice how different styles work and the way good pieces will flow and every letter has a certain element that blends the whole piece together. im a miami-head and the majority of pieces down here are really simple, but everyone has there own "simple" style. Secondly, if you sketch a piece and you dont like the overall look of it, please dont say "alright well the piece looks shitty but ill toss some color on it and it'll look good" NO it wont look good. color is like make up, if u put make up on a fat girl, shes still fat. it doesnt work like that. but the best info i can give is dont stop drawing no matter how many people think youre a toy or how badly everyone thinks u suck. dont give it up because one day ull be able to look down on them. find youre personal style and run with it. its ok to nibble, just dont byte.
