RumPuncher
Time for another of Kilo's 2 in 1™ threads. PART 1 _____________________________ So I want to buy a thermos. You know that metal jugs that aren't really all that big but they hold like 2-3 cups of coffee? Well dont go to Starbucks! :evil2: let me try to figure out the markup on these things.... They are available in bulk for $12 usd. Now the starbucks near my house sells them for $26 usd or $42 canadain!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! At a normal exchange rate. $26 us is only $34 canadian. Why the extra tenner? so after figuring the conversion.... a canadian starbucks has a $20 mark up on the thermos. Probably more actually because they buy them in bulk orders of a billion³. http://www.worldbank.org/infoshop/images/thermos.jpg'> ^ Imagine the mark up on a World Bank thermos! I'd have to devalue my currency like Argentina! PART 2 _____________________________ Here's a question for the computer savy out there. Would it be better to get monitor with TV inputs or to get a 'TV input card' installed into the computer? I'm thinking that not going though the computer would be more versatile. Any wise words? anyone have a TV line into their monitor or into their comp? http://www.tigerdirect.com/images/skuimages/large/p610-1780.jpg'> http://www.tigerdirect.com/images/itemDetails/P/P610/P610-1780/videoConnectivity.jpg'>http://www.tigerdirect.com/images/itemDetails/P/P610/P610-1780/remoteControl.jpg'> as they say on the continent... hollaski! Guest
I dont have a computer at home, but I want one. I wouldn't hook up the internerd but I could use a way to play my many gigs of mp3's at home. plus with a DVD drive... it's a total media center! http://images.tigerdirect.com/skuimages/large/S451-3065.jpg'> just because I dont own a TV (the roomate does) and when I move out eventually I'm going to want something. I'd much prefer to have a 19' flat screen that also works with the computer than some shit CRT tube crapola that I found for $100.

That would probably be about $80,000,000 Canadian with the mark up. That thing looks kinda cool but if it breaks i bet its expensive to fix. And you know that everything new breaks. It always does.:D Oh by the way that gif tag you sent me is some pretty cool shit. Im about to take it appart and see what you did. I'll become an image nerd yet.</span>:p
Guest
wow... nice find Dazzle! That totally answered my question! from the article... Bottom Line Having the TV and video function built into the monitor, rather than on a PC card, is very cost effective and an efficient use of resources. It would cost me much more to install a TV tuner card and buy a separate LCD monitor and would tax my computer system more. I am very happy with the video and audio quality and functions provided in a light, thin package.
