asdf_va!
looking for something to thin out bucket paint for bright colors. not really worried about super permanence but i dont want it to be really weak. i gues im trying to make (dare i say it) GHETTO JUNOBO yeah i couldn't really find anything on it i apologize. First page of this thread has a great recipe for what you are asking. Read it carefully, as it is VERY specific. For a tutorial on making exactly what you want, you can search this thread, using the Advanced search option, and only search MY (asdf_va!) posts. Just search "paint recipe" or maybe "my paint recipe." I can't remember the best way to find it. But if you look hard enough, I show you what I use. Cheap and REALLY good recipe. Good luck. sk8er6
^the skaginess! ^^see the red bottle on the right? ^^see the action shot? Met this kid and gave him some of my stuff. Want to know MY recipe??? Start with one of these: Drink the whole thing! Next you want one of these in any red color: Make sure its Oil based and 8oz will do you(doesn't need to be the door paint either). You need some of this: It's super cheap, and you can the smallest amount you can find of any thinner. Next you want this(OIL BASED!!): In this color: Red Mahogany 225 Finally, some of this: Directions... 1.Take the full 8oz tin of the rusto oil based red and pour it into the empty knob creek bottle(not all of it will come out, but thats ok). 2.Next take 1oz of the thinner(+/- .5oz) and put it into the rusto tin that you just emptied. The will break up the paint that wouldn't come out. 3.Put 2oz of the Oil based Minwax red wood stain into the tin with the thinner. Close the rusto tin tight and shake the shit out of it. 4.Open the tin and pour the new contents into the bottle of paint. Close the bottle, and shake the shit out of it. Let it sit, and repeat. 5.Open the bottle and add 1oz of the Dot3 Break fluid(less IS more). Shake! Thats it. If it's too thick, add .5oz of the Minwax wood stainer. Consider this one... a freebie! Good luck. Junobo's mix is way better than this and worth the loot. Oinks ink is ridiculously better than this mix, but it's not red... Yet. DED... same thing... but the man has some shit in store for all of us! ^^Quality shit to buy! I make my own, and I am cool with that. But I still buy these guys stuff as well... for when I want to impress the ladies and shit. Check em all out! bumpity bump bump bump! i paid alot of attention to this, because when asdf_va! speaks, it's always something important. so yeah, i wanna try this, on page 150, you mentioned blue wood stain. where the hell do i get such an unatural color of wood stain? i didnt see it at home depot... and asdf_va!, how thin can you get your mop mix? haha, so you met a kid, gave him supplies to try out, and in return he gave you a sticker to use as a label? good deal! ;) i need something thin... asdf_va!
...and asdf_va!, how thin can you get your mop mix? ...i need something thin... Like ALL paint recipes, what you gain from thinner drippier mixes, you loose in opacity. And oil paint mixes are usually the MOST opaque of all. Way better than ink. My mix is pretty thin. Thinner than Junobo's, but it's not as opaque. I would suggest that you cut your thinner by half and compensate with a nice dark colored, oil based, stainer. ALSO, you might have to ask for the colored oil based wood stains. They are very popular for that Mediterranean look. There are Red, Blue, Yellow, Green, and Black wood stains out there. I get mine at Lowes. Home Depot also has them as well. Just look around. The MINWAX that I show above, makes those colors as well. Good luck. Thanks for digging that tutorial up! Oink? definitely not. Strikes me as an older guy with a shop, not a writer. Asdf? maybe on paper or in his backyard. It's like a conversation between the same 6-7 people acting as authorities, but, if you look at what they're saying..... they don't write graffiti. Maybe on a box in the basement or in their room. A few other people too, rouge, sk8ter to name a few. On 12oz you can pretend, and basically get away with it. but really? Why pretend? The only thing I can think of is that you're alll litlle kids. except for Oink. my 2cents on this thread. now if you'll excuse me, i gotta hit the beach. bitches! xROGUEx
What do I have to pretend about? That I know how to make Krink? That make no sense, it's not like he doesn't share the recipe, which KR does do. Everyone, I currently came up with a MUCH better formula, and now have 2 other partners with me. We're working on some new batches and I'll have your orders out soon.
