thebrownbomber
india ink is water based....so it pretty much sucks. You can always try adding strainers...look through the first few pages of this thread for a list of staining additives that are water based. 'Nuff said. JakeBaumer44
so i found this on this site and wasnt sure if i should get it. looks ok. thought id ask b4 i bought. You think if added to ink, paint, or even etch this would leave a colored stain on glass? http://www.ssww.com/store/product/sku=SG381/cmc=GRDCMBFNS/grp=CMB/sbgrp=FNS/
big balled bob
Get it, Its only $5.00, What have you got to Lose? By the look of the bottle It lokos like trash though. Yeah India Ink Is Pretty much useless. Its like filling a mop with Rit Dye (Same Transparency)
asdf_va!
Just make sure that if you/anyone mixes ANYTHING with etch... that you do it with your face and hands protected from the fumes that might happen and to be in a well ventilated area. In all the years of etch use... At least 20... You/anyone should ask yourself, why hasn't anyone made this work yet? India ink is great on paper and non- toxic in your skin. As a staining, fast drying, all-around tool for writing on things and expecting it to last... It sucks. But... Fuck that. You got it, so use it. Find some RIT dye, it's water based, and add some to the india ink. It wont thicken it up, but it will make it stain a little. Put it in a window marker, after cleaning it out, and then hit the town. It's perfect practice. And if you are complete toy and actually stick with it for more than a year... you won't have to look at that terrible shit you just wrote 6 months back. I just found a couple of tags from a couple of years ago, and I REALLY need to diss them with my current touch. Same name, just better. Just do it. When the India Ink runs out... get some oil based bucket paint and mix in some thinner. That's it. Good luck.
big balled bob
asdf_va! That Window STain must be water based No_ ?

TURKMURKS
C O R I O...ink will spread all up into any unpainted metal,or marble or concrete shit like that.a regular uni-paint piant marker filled with that stuff is tight..just do tags bigger so they dont make a big blob.griffin works way better tho. Tha Unibomber
^^ i hear that stuff is nice and thick. yeah it has a nice drip too and doesn't look all streaky, comes in a cool bottle with a little applicator if you don't want to put together a marker but kinda messy that way http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tFSDHyhNRRA&rel=1 there is a movie with the ink
JakeBaumer44
^^shits hot. thats pretty sick ink. With the glass stainer, i wasnt really talking about the colored etch solution. I have never even made or bought etch, it was more for the ink/paint. And i know it looks shitty, but that doesnt always mean it sucks. Idk mayb ill give it a try. SerialSkiller
the first thing i read that gave me a pretty good idea that it was shit was the fact it said "transparent".
Skag
Just wondering, what the fuck is Corio actually meant to be used for? I know its not designer ink for graffiti, but is it like marsh and used primarily for industrial markers?

asdf_va!
That's an OLD SKOOL technique. The paper isn't as readily available as it used to be BITD. Tattoo Suppliers have it though. Nice!

asdf_va!
...do your eyebrows ever get sore? -loser I am assuming that you signed this post with what you write. I can respect that. Hey Loser, As a matter of fact, yes!, my eyebrows do get sore sometimes from being so awed by the dumb shit that some people pass on as fact on these threads. But that the same time, I get awed by all of the new people on these threads that are actually learning and trying out the older techniques and really have a respect for the trade. That's what all this shit is. It's a skilled trade. Not a hobby. Serious people respect the knowledge that won't pay back anything but self respect and personal gain. So yeah... My Brows do get sore sometimes. Oh yeah, Fuck you.
DEFY_sfodcrew
ok here's a couple new recepies floating around on BS (they aren't mine) hard staining recipie: by Bizerk 3/6 Oil stain 1/6 raven oil 1/6 wood stain 1/6 feibings or griffin leather dye or ridge ink. with 1/2 potassium permanganate 1/2 black cherry coolaid powder as adative. half a bottle cap of each and 2 drops of fish oil. some others: OUTDOOR STAINING INK Any Color Woodstain- Oil based Mineral Spirits a few fish oil tablets -------------------------------------------- INDOOR STAINING INK Red Fiebings 3 Fish Oil Tablets Solvent Red 24 Red Pen Ink And maybe a little alcohol if it's too thick Blue Fiebings 3 Fish Oil tablets Methylene Blue Solvent Blue 38 Maybe some pen ink and alcohol aswell --------------------------------------- GHETTO DED 1 bottle Fiebings Purple 1 bottle of Purple PVC Primer Gentian Violet 3 Fish Oil tablets And some Solvent Violet 8 and ASDV don'y jump on me for the "ghetto DeD" I know it's not as good and I didn't name it... just reposting it cause this thready is pretty shitty recently.
thebrownbomber
DEFY, have you actually tried any of those recipies? My guess is they suck, if they work at all. Thanks for trying to revive this thread, but I think it would be cool if people posted only recipies they have used. Which is kinda why I haven't posted much in here....I generally just use thinned rusto for paint, and my ink mix is black pilot, a little bit of pvc primer, iodine and methyl blue (because i found some but since ran out) and some purple alcohol ink i found. It's a deep purple ink thats not as opaque as I'd like, not all that hard staining, but I've had some tags outside for months now that haven't faded a bit. It's not the best, but for the not - so hard buffing area i live in, it does that trick.
OinkArtLtdDotCom
after the buff. they tried.
