my reading habits are consistent, but irregular.

i'm like mamerro right now, as far as actual 'books' are

concerned..i still get a fat ass chunk of 'non book' reading in otherwise.

before school i was reading a huge chunk of my

day and night. books usually take me some time depending

on which book and the subject, but primarily becuz

i'm just too interested in a fat ass bunch of other things to

be able to focus on one thing at a time. by the time i've

gotten into a book, there's something else i'm just dying to

get some info on, so its a bit messy...i need mass

variety.

but yes..reading fucking rocks.

i stayed away from lance's book for quite some time because i lean towards snobbiness and his book LOOKs like some oprah self-help shit. but it's not. i got it for a christmas present two years ago and just crushed it in a day. real dope.

i used to read a ton, but now i met this girl.... where does the time go? i ain't complainin' (i'm in the rain doin a buck forty hydroplanin')

i can't read that long... i get bored/tired. 2 hours is my limit.

i read about 2-3 books a week.

just finished up:

two gentlemen from verona..

bout to finish the myth of sisyphus in about an hour

and play winning chess.

bout to start up

the wall

the ethics

richard II

and either winning chess or chess tactics, haven't decided.

oh, and i always have a couple comic books here and there.

unlike browner, i dont really like reading anything short, just doent feel i get any depth...

over the summer i was reading some rediculous stuff... i fead a 50 page essay on feminist textbooks for no reason. (i almost posted it too, but, knowing this board, anything that long aint getting read).

man, you have a clean ass room... the same spot next to my bed contains a bottle of etch, plastic wrap, random peices of paper, empty envelope from phone bill, and a dead lady bug... the otherside has a dead hornet and a half jar of peanut butter.

cracked, they're both tactics books... one is just about 40 years older... chernev is better known for his annotated games (and well, being a master, of course)... i've actually heard from some actual chess instructors (none of which i can afford) that all books are pretty much useless except for annotated games. however, having studied tactics in the past (bobby fischer teaches chess... great book for the money), i found sever improvement in my game.

i just got bain's book in the mail today.. i kinda got ripped off, a few of the problems are already filled out, but ah well... not enough to warrent a return... cheers.
