Guest
^ hell? just ask every friend, family member and friends of family members. Otherwise you're getting a McJob unless you've got a great resume (which bet you dont). Temp agencies can screw you over because the compnay will pay a few dollars of your hard earned money to them and you get near minimum. Dick Quickwood
yeah im in the same situation, welcome to the club. there should be a place called the employment office, i guess its run by the state, and you go in and give them your information and shit, and they call you when something comes up

fatbastard
what you need to do is enquire about "work experience" work for free for a little while to bulk up your resume, and usually what happens is you end up working at the place you did work experience at, when you do work experience kiss as much ass as possible and work yourhardest. with job hunting, persistence is the key

the_gooch
yeah the established work time is essential. also it's looks better if you were at 1 job for 5 yrs, opposed 5 or 6 jobs in 5 years. it shows that you are willing to grow with a company. stability! this is what my OBJECTIVE says on my resume: "An opportunity to secure a position that will utilize my experience and enthusiasm, while I am attending school on a full time basis". that kinda bullshit works WAY better than fake or inflated job titles and the such. also a thesaurus helps when describing your job title. example: "Facilitated in the transport of patients" sounds much better than: moved patients. yeah and i always say i was in the boy scouts when i was younger, just so you i look active and responsible. i mean i was in the boy scouts, but we set shit on fire, beat up nerdy kids, made fun of each others mothers and traded porn. but the job doesnt know that. haha

yoink
I live in a small town, that has a huge population (huge college environment) so jobs are few and far between, ask anyone you know, for any sort of job openings, connections are a huge part of it no matter what anyone says. I couldnt find a job for shit, I even applied for a late night walmart stocking job, I ended up getting a 7.50 an hour delivery courier type job for a local medical job through my landlord. and that just came about through bullshit conversation, he ended up hooking me up. not a full time job, nor my life dreams but I got money. which was GREAT. good luck mang. nomadawhat
^^ hell, i bet that one on the places that does check your background, getting all the crazies. what about that college footballl coach who said he played football, never did, went to graduate school, never did. things are probably changing in todays world, but i bet you could lie, exagerate and many places would never know. i may have been exagerratting myself with the over 50% statment..but alot of places man not have the manpower, time or desire to do a full background check. yoink
in my personal experiences and those of my friends no ones backgrounds have been really checked except one, and that was my girlfriend who started working at a hospital (makes sense) But its not worth it, especially if you dont have a large spectrum of jobs to apply to. Dr. Dazzle
I'm in the same boat. I applied at a liquor store, amongst other places. But I think working in a liquor store would be sweet.

mr.yuck
Work at a car dealership selling cars. It pays good and you need to know next to nothing as long as you can talk to people pretty well. If you are the anti-social type then i would suggest getting a job with the post office. Most positions start off paying you somewhere around $15 an hour. Not to shabby. I have spoken.
