lovestick
Definately, as you said digis have a ways to go but when the time comes (probably not too long) film won't be much of a match. While regular film will still have its purposes (for example when you don't have access to a computer) professionals and recreationalists will be able to produce greater results with all the new technology in photography these days. Kind of makes you wish that this newfangled digital crap would have been available for the last ten years ago to the average person, since if that was the case I'd be out taking more pictures instead of scanning shoeboxes full of slides. On another note, with DSLR's you get a nice healthy "snap" when you take a picture like a normal film camera. Death to the awful sony fake shutter noise :D
KaBar2
Digital Rules And it's all because of the Internet and the ease with which one can post/manipulate/send digital pictures. There may be a movement eventually that prizes old-style film/developing, etc (similar to the "real albums are vinyl" movement in music) but I predict film is outta here. Guest diggity
http://216.25.78.123/pics/Canon/8068a008.jpg'> 11.1 megapixel. I got an olympus a little while back, its been nothing but great to me. Since i mostly work digital before going out to video or web, it cuts out a few steps and saves me alot of cash. The onething i have noticed about my photos is this, i tend not to care so much about composition and color when flicking with a digital as i do with analog. Since its not costing me, i dont pay as much attention, but since i noticed that, i've been making more effort for higher quality flicks. IOU
In the last two years I've seen Octave One twice. They're a Detroit based techno act and when they play live they go all analog. On a really good system you can tell the difference and the difference is noticeable. I know there was a study done comparing vinyl to CD and vinyl was picked over CD. This was done with kids who didn't even grow up with vinyl, so that tells you a lot right there. That is all.
Mercer
I'm at a point where I'm bored with my current setup and might get a Polaroid or something. As far as digital VS. analog goes one thing always bothered me about analog enthusiasts is the way they praise even shitty photo's that were taken using film. As if the fact that the photographer's skill in composition or capturing the right moment isn't important to them. The fact that the photo has a retro look outweighs anything else thus making the fact that film was used simply turd polish.

Police Story
I always end up deleting folders by accident, or forgetting if I backed up the photos or not... All my film photos are in albums and never move. I'd say analog...
