Make some ill robot shit - kitmash

Wow, fantastic concept design drawing! Details, man.

Looks like, start with Gundam kits. But it depends on what scale you intend to flesh these out to.

Most of the Star Wars models were various military model parts of various scales kitmashed.

But for the droids, there was mostly scratch building and thermal forming.

In your drawing, I'm seeing some Gundam, Ma.K., and electrical components parts in there somehow. I got boxes of extra DC electrical stuff.

There's also everyday stuff from consumer product containers that are normally thrown away.

Here's a couple links I have bookmarked of other people's work:

Maschinen Krieger Ma.K.

Jukabala Junkyard

Re: model planes not plains

My O C D kicks my A D D 's ass. :scrambled:

keep building those kits, man. I don't build planes so if you need a new restart up kit of one let me know, I got an extra.

describe this skateboard gig.

yeah, i may grab something this week. not sure what though.

the show was just random art on or made of skateboards. i'll get some pics up.

cool, man, thanks.

I use a small brush and thin the paint to look like spray paint sprayed back and forth quickly like in a fill. Never use white or black but instead light grays and dark grays so that in scale it's more acceptable. Then go back with the appropriate paint solvent and touch up some edges to look like over spray and fades.

Macro pics of these will reveal this. These pics from further away look better. lol

Also, a few buffed square spots here and there add realism.

BOXCUTTERS, you mean across the brick wall? I have some pictures of some famous rollers I'd like to duplicate in scale later.

Great stuff. This shit still has me mad interested. But I gotta get back into drawing before I even delve into stuff like this.

Currently redesigning Mazinger Z as a get-back-into-the-game project. It's really, really fucking hard, cause Mazinger was a fairly stupid looking robot (awesome nonetheless).

Re: Mazinger Z

you're a designer on this project?

or are you customizeing a model kit of it?

if toy and anime robot design is you job, then focus on that, man.

make lots of money, then retire.

Then you can make models on a tropical beach with your toes in warm sand, drinking a Singha.

oh that would be the life.

anyone collect trains? i used to - but kind of got out of it when i went to college. now that im older i want to get back into it. gonna start buing little by little and eventually get my layout hooked up. trying to decide between O and HO. you can fit more HO in a given space, but you can do pieces on O cars much easier, and when i really get nerded out im gonna weather the pieces and everything. my plan is to create a model of the place where i bench freights.
