try not putting the piece smack in the middle of the canvas. get wut i mean? like turn it upright and have the piece at the bottom and either do fades or rectangles or drips or wutever coming down from the top or something of that nature................ah fuck it nevermind

My advice would be to not treat it like a wall. That's what you're doing and that's your downfall with that canvas. Or, if you plan on treating it like a wall try to add some flavor to it. Zone is a perfect example of someone who does things right when it comes to traditional pieces on a canvas. Use the space you're given. Use it all. Layers. Think CanTwo... Persue. Get loose with your extensions. Look at all the extra space you're ignoring. Is there a rule book that says a piece has to be in a rectangular shape? Nope... but if you do you have to make it funky.

No dis, just some advice.

Ive always felt that graffiti belonged on the wall and art belongs on canvas and so while my canvas junk looked graffiti influenced I wouldnt simply depend on letter structure to carry the peice. Even if that means something as simple as better use of space.

Bottom line, there are no time limits with canvas.

Ya dig?

Go to your local art store and ask them. Krylon or Rusto clear coat is okay but eventually yellows. You want something that will last for quite some time.

And if your canvas is all spraypaint... you don't need to clear coat it. The spray paint will outlast the clear coat.

Go to walmart and grab the hobby and craft clearcoat...its in a spraycan(pink label i believe) and DOES NOT YELLOW! I've used it for clearcoating shoes that i've done, it should work for canvas
