i have to disagree here. NOT anyone can do

those!

Line, shape, color.

there are 3 elements here. But its all there is

when working on a flat surface, with execption of

the illussion of texture.

It takes a lot of guts and conviction to limit ones tools so much. Many artists try to cram in as

much as possible, if they don't get ya with one

part they hope to get you with the next part.

Jokers work here is restrained, giving the viewer

only what they need, no bells, no whistels

screaming " HEY, YOU, LOOK OVER HERE, I AM

ART". To me it like Looking at the sky from below

a tree with no leaves. All the intersecting

branches make these incredable shapes. And if

you could remove a lot of them and just keep 5

or 6 really nice ones. Boom, youve got something.

Really nice work Joker.

you must not be a heavy coffee drinker?

Everytime Joker reitterates that he doesn't use a ruler, i go back and stare at the pictures for a minute, and respect it even more then i already did. Drawing straight lines is fucking insane.

On another note, beardo, those are fucking sick. If they're for sale, I might be willing to purchase or trade for one.

I'll post some of my work tomorrow.

Heavy, I'm a firm believer in that not everything an artists does has to be liked... even when you normally like everything the artist does. Delta is my favorite artist and there are a few things he's done that left me wondering... what the hell. BUT... I think you're right about your explanation. My style is definitely all about breaking it down to it's bare minimum. And I think that comes from seeing kids do pieces that were so hidden by all this extra crud that meant nothing. I wanted to do the opposite of that but still create something that was just as comlicated. Sometimes I succeed... sometimes I fail. Coffie Crave called me on some failed pieces. And that's cool.

Some more to look at... hopefully I haven't posted these before...

From a show in November of last year. The snowboard is one from a series of six I did for Burton.

Illustration board... I really liked this piece and recently had it for sale in Chicago. I priced it kinda high for what it is, hoping it wouldn't sell so I'd have to reason to hold on to it. Someone bought it though... I guess that's good.

At the show I had in November I did these set of boxes that hung flush against the wall. They sold so fast that I nearly wept. The President of Nike came in a few days after the opening and wanted them. So he called me up and had me produce a whole 'nother set just for his office. That's my 15 minutes of fame right there... it's all down hill now.

One box is missing because it wasn't done when I took the photos...

Damn Joker

Those last posts were insane. I would love to have one of those in my possesion, (if I had the cheese to of course.) absolutely sweet.

Just outta curiousity when you sell your work like that, what price range do they usually go for??? (Like if you were to sell the wood one, or the musuem ones etc?)

Hey Tess, why dont you show us the whole thing? ;) Looks good!

Tough one...the thing is that the is nothing at all. The canvas was made to be photographed as i wanted details and not a single thing. Its more a study than a 'painting'.

I'll post some more details later
