i used to read alot when i was a kid. my dad would always tell me how he had like HULK, THOR, Spiderman, Superman, all #1 in a big box in his room ... and my grandma threw them away while he was at college :nope:

i read Spawn, Xmen, a lot

I loved the Infinity Gauntlet series. I have all the books and comics I think. That was one of the best stories I read as a kid.

I have a few of the Batman Dark Knight graphic novels and a few of the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles novels.

I don't know if anyone remembers Shi, but it was only out for a little bit. I have like 6 copies of #1 all signed by the writer and artist. They were hot for a while, but then depreciated. I'll just hold on to them I guess.

i've got

the batman where his back gets broken

the Fantastic four where Dr.Doom Kills Reed Richards

Spawn where he gets a new costume

Fantastic four #1 new series

A bunch of #1s that never made it.

Dare Devil with glow in the dark cover

Blood Strike #1 ( hyper color blood cover)

^^ none of these are worth shit. The comic industry isn't what it used to be.

I have a couple hundred other comics that are cool.

some of the batman collections are nice, especially the token ones like dark knight returns, venom etc....are you talking about the original TMNT by Eastman and Laird? the ones that were marketed towards adults? if so, those are the OG ninja turtle books, and bad ass.

Lord yes save those! You got William Tucci to sign it for you or some one else? no matter you can def. get money for those later on, which issue is it exactly? (publisher and year?)

Everyone should check this out, Its goin to be released sometime in the near future,

1602

Neil Gaiman's first mainstream Marvel work. Been planned for years, Due around September.

To paraphrase what Neil himself said about the story, 1602 is set in the Marvel Universe but this particular universe is trying to come into existence 500 years earlier.

1602_promo.jpg

1602 is goin mid-evil on the marvel universe....pun intended.

I used to be a gigantic comic book fan, but then it got too expensive for me. 1602 sounds interesting. My cousins have a bunch of the old Eastman and Laird TMNTs. Good thread.

ps - what happened to Spawn after 75?

the Dark Knights were amazing; there is a particular poster I've been searching for from that time.

Who remembers X-tinction Agenda?

Im not exact on after 75, but I used to collect until about the late 20's and basically the less time Mcfarlane spent on it the worse it got, and he was kinda gettin slack on the spawn comics, and concentrating on everything else, similiar to what Joe Madueira did with Battle Chasers which was a Phenom story, but he also gave it up to pursue other endevours.

The stories were getting old, rehashed from earlier issues, The "magic" of the series was kinda quickly diminishing especially as it got older and dif comics were gettin popular.

my two cents.

do you remember what the poster was like of Batman?

If they are original prints, not just collected versions, or what not they will be worth a great deal of money, as you probably know Akira is one of the most noteable animes and manga for that matter of all time, US and Asia, If its published by Marvel and the run started in the mid '80's the first issue should be worth around 30 bucks. number 2 around 12, number 2 nine, etc....so while there not superman #1 hang on to them, becuase The impact of Akira on the american market wont be forgotten. (If there trades there pretty much useless though except for collector value.)

Spiderman and Venom!! Case close!

There is a godamn plethora of comics out there, go discover, I find way too many people are missing out on a great deal of incredible art, writing, and storytelling. dont get me wrong I like Spidey, but the spectrum of comics is too diverse to just limit yourself to "flagship" titles.

that because they did too many gimick covers and flashy shiny paper shit inside

so now things arent special anymore

image, valiant, and a few others
