Anyone belong to a gym? I just joined one.

I got about 4 weeks before Im off to the army. So my fat ass needs to get in shape. My legs are strong as fuck from all the bball I play. But my arms are weaker than Hammers rhymes. I go down to the local gym with my mom and get a membership. Somehow the guy talks my mom into getting me 6 visits with a personal trainer within the month. So hes like 'Im assuming you want to really work on cardio since thats what youll be doing alot of'. Obviously he was just trying to say 'lose some weight, thats what you need'. But anyway they bring in the personal trainer guy, and the motherfucker looks like a damn drill seargant. Hes only about 5'5'' but hes built, buzzcut and everything. Ive always assumed alot of those bodybuilders have some type of complex, that guys has gotta be short mans complex. The salesman guy is like 'yeah hes going to the army in a month' and the trainer is like 'wow' basically saying Im a fatass and its gonna be tough to prepare me for that in a month. But fuck him. Short bastard can suck my dick while hes standing up. Im gonna surprise his ass with how good of shape Im in when we train.

 

So now Ive got a gym membership and a personal trainer. I figure if Im gonna work out alot in the gym when I get to the army -this guy can help me know all the techniques and shit.

 

Anyone else belong to a gym?

I belong to a gym. I don't think there's any advice I can give you that the trainer's not going to be able to... Just make sure if you're trying to lose fat you are doing tons of cardio, running if possible (at one point I dropped my body fat from 20% to 12% in about two months running 3 miles in 25 mins before workouts). Doing cardio first, before you lift or do any machines gets all the blood pumping to your muscles so you get a better workout with more results.. it also gets your muscles warmed up which will help prevent injury. Also, you gotta make sure you are eating right. Drink ONLY water.. at least 8 (8oz) glasses a day. No pop, no juice, no tea.. All those things will dehydrate you and make losing fat harder. Stay away from carbohydrates and fat as much as possible. Eat tons of tuna, salmon, LEAN as fuck meats, salad's w/ vinegar based dressings, steamed veggies.. If you're going to take any suppliment's I'd recomend Hydroxycut. It's an herbal energy booster and basicly elimanates any appitite what so ever. You're trainer will probably recomend some creatine and protein suppliments. Just don't over eat. Also, the one thing I've found that everyone kindof has to discover on their own, as I'm sure you will... Is just don't break your routine. The hardest part is finding a routine that makes you feel good inside and outside of the gym.. as soon as you find one, do it %110 percent. It's a lot more motivating when you feel like you're doing all you can do. If you're only doing half of it, or 3/4 of it, you tend to let yourself slack off in other area's... which really defeats the whole purpose. aiight....

first of all you need to do BOTH cardio and weight training..the more muscle you have the faster your metabolism(faster your metabolism faster you burn fat)

second..don't let them talk you into a bunch of supplements..BUT..you need protein. perferably a powder that you can mix with water or skim milk and you need to drink it immediately after you train, wether its weights, cardio, ball whatever...(the reason you want a liquid is because whole food takes too long to digest and once your body breaks it down your window for optimal intake is long gone)

Creatine is also the goods, but like TowUp said you gotta drink tons of water..it keeps things flowing in your body..Creatine is good for increased strength and improved recovery..it also blocks the lactic acid(that stuff that burns like hell when your running/lifting) basically what Creatine does is keeps your muscles saturated, letting all your nutrients in and all the lactic acid etc. out..

 

Also..try and eat 5-6 small meals per day..I eat equal carbs and protein(servings about the size of my fist) and usually 2 of those meals are protein shakes(not counting my post-workout shake)..

you need some carbs for energy so you don't want to tottaly deplete your carb intake or you will feel like a slug with salt on it's back...anyway..

I know a bunch of secrets and stuff to get cut, but they are too many to keep going.. email me if you want to talk more..
