I saw this dude's exhibit at the Guggenheim over the summer.

 

 

He had some really wild shit. Really cool things happening.....i remember:

 

 

1. The cauldron of petroleum jelly he heated up and let it flow down the spiral of the museum

 

2. A life-size bar modeled completely in petroleum jelly

 

3. A cross-section of a 66' ford mustang filled with honeycombs or something of the like.

 

Definitely some interesting shit.

I'm in a show right now with Matthew Barney. Just a group show, but curated by Michael Rees who's a pretty cool guy. I saw the Cremaster Solo exhibit at the Guggenheim and thought it was entertaining. The images definitely stick in your head. Kind of boring to watch all the way through, though...

 

anyway, here's the piece I have in the show with him... 3 parts... 1 in NYC, 2 in Houston Texas, 3 in L.A.

oh and also.. Sofa those shoes you posted. sweet bro.. have you seen the suede trail runners from around the same time with the assymetrical laces? they kind of look like rock climbing shoes...slipper like.
