actually, now that you mention it, their music has been influenced by hip hop in a rather weird way and their side project, Gescom is sort of electro hip hop. Also, their label, Skam ( www.skam.co.uk ), is experimental hip hop.

But I wouldn't say that their current music is hip hop, no.

Guest i am nothing like you

confield is good listen. it's not something you put in car and drive around with, you got to really sit down and let it play.

as far as the electro hip-hop label your putting on these artists, i think your in the wrong by doing so.

gescom has a minidisk album out that your supposed to put on and play at random. it's all sorts of noises and sounds and what have you and it's supposed to go along with a your day. a soundtrack almost..

when it comes to music, i am the most

heavy handed, obsessed, elitist motherfucker around....

autechre are hiphop...

...in the acro year.

ep7 in my opinion is waaaaay better without a doubt.........to me that

release is their most realized vision...

confield is dope, but alot of it is muddling

around, and slightly annoying; the next

one should be much better, i think confield

is their effort to get some ideas down, but

the ideas aren't very succinct yet. confield feels unfinished to me.

um....skam an experimental hiphop label???

i personally wouldn't say its 'experimental hiphop'..............

gescom as 'electo hiphop' is not a bad term for some

of their outpt........minidisc would be the exception though.

.......autechre are the only ones that are truly

forging new territory as far as 'electronica' type acts are

concerned(you know...breakbeat/melodic/glitch shits)

................anyone care to argue with me?

please bring it.....blahg.....

sorry if this post seemed a bit obscure.. http://www.12ozprophet.com/ubb//smile.gif'>

far less metallic?!

confield to me is way more 'metallic'.

to the point where i would question how many

times you've listened to both lp5 and confield. listen

to it again....

warp is hardly obscure.

did you know they were writers? they have a piece in spraycan art, its the one on a little wall with a horrible pink bode at the end of some houses. they were 'never that into it' tho.

autechre/tortoise split is good.

aphex broke down a hella lot more sound boundaries than autechre. though he's not warp, any andrew weatherall fans? sabres of paradise/2 lone swordsmen fame, check out his "9 o' clock drop" cd. only thing that makes me wish i still could do drugs

want to see good "hip-hop" and warp shit, together with badass design by tDR?

go to www.thedesignersrepublic.com and look for the video they did for funkstorug. 50 megs, so be warned.

pulk. we were cool until i saw your page. hating on missy = :|

her and timbaland have been doing shit sonically that isn't obsolete to this day. it's easy to hate after hearing "Get ur freak on", because it sounds pretty hare-brained, but don't dismiss her until you listen to her "supa dupa fly" album. it surprised me how amazing it was, and how much of a huge following it has. i played it at my work once, was totally shocked at how many people knew every song word-for-word. i want to sit down and make a list of lesser-known timbaland songs people should hear that would totally flip their opinions on music around, like mine was.

ps - ha, at least you admit you ripped off tDR.
